The Mazda2 is a subcompact/supermini (B-segment) car manufactured and marketed by Mazda since 2002. An entry-level model of the brand in markets outside Japan, the Mazda2 is positioned below the Mazda3. All-New Mazda2 to Debut at Geneva

First to evolve

Mazda Motor Corporation will showcase the world premiere of the all-new Mazda2 (known as the Mazda Demio in Japan) at the 77th annual Geneva International Motor Show to be held from Tuesday, 6 March through Sunday, 18 March 2007. Officially titled the Salon International de l’Auto de Genève, the Geneva Motor show press days are March 6 and 7, and the public days are March 8-18. Mazda will hold its press conference on Tuesday, 6 March at 14:15 CET.

The all-new Mazda2 is more than just a model freshening of the current Mazda2. In 2002, the Mazda6 heralded the arrival of Mazda’s new generation of Zoom-Zoom vehicles, and now the Mazda2 becomes the first of these to evolve to the next level. As such, the new Mazda2 represents the progression of Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom brand promise.

It looks so different from the current Mazda2! Can't say I like the change... It looks a little like a Yaris now. :eusa_thin

One thing is for sure - it'll sell like crazy! At least in Croatia, like all Mazda vehicles...

:t-cheers:

It reminds me of the Ford Ka which looks like an egg on wheels.

A little bit yes, but still this one looks thousand times better than the ugly Ka...

Not car for you and me, for sure...;) For the chicks...

:t-cheers:

Well i like it very much.. th side profile looks very dynamic and hides the small size of the wheels very well.
I'm also glad that mazda returned to the mini hatchback look after the the mini mpv food we had in the previous year due to pedestrians protection regulations.. I hope Mitsubishi will do the same with the next generation Colt.

The only thing that bother me about the design id the tiny grill in the front.

Interesting but ugly interior design, the silver spookes on the steering wheel is horrible. The exterior design is pleasant to look at but there is a hint of Toyota Yaris about it, both have headlights positioned relatively high on the front, and the surfacing on the side of both cars are very similar.

This car is build from ground up, to target Nissan's hatch, Azeal :t-crazy2: ...!

Should be a nice car, Mazda is good on them :usa7uh: ...!

Re: Revealed: Mazda2 (Demio) sedan

Mazda brought a new level of style and dynamism to the compact car segment when it launch the new Mazda2 (Demio) back in March. It showed the world that econo hatches didn’t have to be boxy and boring and with the right engineering (the new Mazda2 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor but more spacious) the cars could remain affordable and practical while still being fun to drive. Mazda has now added a sedan variant to its lineup.

The new sedan will make its debut at the 2007 Guangzhou Motor Show in China this week. The car is targeted at the Chinese market and is manufactured by the Changan Ford Mazda joint-venture at a factory in Nanjing.
The engine lineup will likely remain the same as the hatchback’s offering, which means three petrol engines ranging from 1.3 to 1.5L in displacement. The entry-level 1.3L unit produces 75hp and two 1.5L units deliver 84hp and 103hp respectively.
Production of the car is well underway and first sales are scheduled to start in China by January next year. There’s no word on which other markets the sedan will be launched in.
