irrelevant..

nobody questioned BMW´s ability to make gr8 engines..
the question is why do bmw fans act like RS and AMG are following them with their NA engines?? when we all perfectly well know that the NA engine has been around for over a century..

1. Noone is saying AMG and RS are following M but why are they changing direction particulary RS division?

2. AMG used to build NA engines but before MB owned them, I say MB "forced" AMG to build FI engines but now MB seem to change direction, why?

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

1. are you sure that nobody said it?? cause this sounds like it:
Seems like everyone is copying BMW lately, going N/A!

2. AMG still built NA engines after MB took control..and then they went to FI.. and now back to NA.. im gonna tell you why.. the old AMG units are built on ordinary MB engines..to make the engine speciall and to gain power they went with FI.. now they made a whole new engine from the base up.. and thats why its NA.. they will milk it as far as they are able .. and the make a FI version of it..to keep up with the competition..

PS
i dont know why RS changed direction..but then again.. DOES IT REALLY MATTER?

I seen a lot of smilies in this thread and I've been told when you see smilies dont take it serious. You are asking BMw fans about NA and when you say BMW fans that mean you talking about everyone, including me. BMW-dude mentioned it (one person), Im pretty sure he was ironic.

Who says it matters, dont turn this like Im the bad guy. I just want to know why and Im sure Im not the only one, there are a lot of RS fans outthere that rather see FI RS engines and they dont understand why Audi changed their direction.

And regarding AMG and what you just said, some of it I understand but not everything.

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

serious or not thats where the discussion started..

like i said i leave the RS to the audi fans.. (ohh and who says it wont be FI just cause lambo helps them with the engine why cant it be FI)

and about AMG i cant explain it any better to you..:D

Im seeing a pattern here, all new S/RS is using NA, why should RS6 be different? Im sure Audi/Lambo has great knowledge how to build NA engines. They dont need FA.

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

could happen..lets wait and see..
i dont really care.. as long as its fast as hell im happy

Yep, I was being ironic, that's why I put smilies!

Sorry to cause any confusion!
:t-cheers:

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

Artist, are you sure the Lambo boss said they were helping with RS6 and not R8?

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

MB told AMG to go N/A as theyre gearboxes couldnt handle the FI engines with the 7 speeder.

Re: Forthcoming Audi RS6 talk

I wouldnt be surprised if Audi develops a 7 spd very soon....I would think we might see it on the upcoming RS6...

When/How will RS6 be?

What do you think about the new RS6?

S6 has a 5.2 V10 with 420hp (right?). so, i think RS6 may have the same engine with bi-turbo, and horsepower... say, 550hp. Audi's RS series always have the last cars in the group, but certainly the strongest.

(Soooorrrry... someone has opened the same topic already...)

Re: When/How will RS6 be?

According to some sources RS6 will use a new 5.5 lt V10 (same that will be used in Facelifted Gallardo) with 550 hp. Others say that it will have the same 5.2 lt of the S6 but with 520-530 hp output. Time will tell.

Re: Next generation Audi RS6.

How come? Won't it see day light along with the A6 face lift, just like with the Current RS4?

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
