LOL Thank god, no! If it had A5 lights, all the sedan and coupe type Audis would be near identical to each other. It would be almost impossible to recognize if it's an A4, A5, or A6. It's already quite hard to say whether the car that is coming towards you is an A6 or an A8.

Here are the numbers from the last test Audi did on the RS6 Avant:

- stopping distance is 37.3m, so yes it is slightly better than the M5 and E63 wagons
- there is no fade after 86 laps at nordschleife !
- 100-0kph in 2.3sec
- 0-100kph in 3.83sec
- 0-100kph of 4.07sec in WET CONDITIONS

P.S. Then why on earth write 4.6!?

Those figures are a bit too....................good. But let's wait for magazine tests to find out the truth.

First one I see is closed. Roll on...

I asked George at Fourtitude about the chances of the RS6 coming our way here, he said that if it does we will only see the Sedan(of course) and that it would be six figures. Slam the brakes right there. For all the cars technical highlights and outrageous perofrmance, such pricing will see this car confied to the status of a "one hit wonder". Very very few people, including executies who have the money to buy cars at these prices will ever do so. Not when they can have an E63 or E60 M5 for $20k less!!! Or better yet a 911 or Vantage, or even an R8 for similar money. It's just not worth it. An RS8??? Sure, most definitely not an RS6.

^^^ Yeah, but let's face it; Audi doesn't want the RS6 to sell in the numbers of the M5/E63. The RS cars are much more exclusive, and that's why we have this high price. It's a car for the true rich fans

Why not, it's a different strategy. They have the S cars to sell in bigger numbers. S6 as the easy M5, and RS6 as the hardcore M5..

And, I did not see the regular RS6 thread locked????

I get what you're saying Klier, but I don't agree with that strategy. The main thing that bothers me is that the S cars have no real direciton, sicne they're hardly competitive with M and AMG cars, which are hardcore right of the box. S cars are more softcore performance cars. If it's what makes buyers and Audi execs happpy though, who am I????

Guys, this is nothing but a rumer. I remember all the rumers about the RS4 costing $80k and that surly didn`t happen. If Audi wants to stay compeditive the pricing of the RS6 should be in the mid to upper $80 when it hits the US.

Oh yes they do. Big time so.
Just because the new 335i is SO GOOD it can be compared with the S5 by all the media outlets doesn't mean they aren't competition.
I have already seen the S5 against the new M3 (it's real competition) on magazine covers.

M3 CSL vs. RS5/RS4

I don't consider most AMG cars hardcore either. The C63 seens to be the most hardcore regular AMG car they've made so far. There is absolutely nothing hardcore about cars like the CL63, S63, SLK 55 etc. They're just fast cruisers.....I'd consider the S5 more hardcore than a S63

You don't seem to get it Klier do you? Audi's cost more then BMW's and that's that! It probably has something to do with the cost of building top notch interiors, which by all accounts BMW doesn't feel the need to invest as much into as Mercedes and Audi! I'm not saying BMW's interior's aren't nice, but it's not Audi's equal. Audi's S-Line has a totally different philosophy then BMW's M-division Klier, BMW's M is suppose to be the definition of driving dynamics, where Audi's S-Line represents the middle ground between luxury and performance! BMW's CSL doesn't offer equal amenties as the standard M3, it has to sacrifice a good number of creature comforts in order to shed access weight. Audi's RS division has no intention of sacrificing it's 1st rate interior amenties in order to achieve such performance, it wouldn't fit Audi's philosophy, or it's consumer base imho. Kinda like a number of BMW loyaliest believe a supercar doesn't fit BMW's philosophy!

Dont kid yourself do you really think that if audi positioned S against M and AMG they would have only given the S5 350hp

And comparing RS to CSL is a joke. CSL is stripped out, audi dont offer such models as of yet, M3 CSL is equivelant to Porsche GT3.

Its common knowledge to everyone that RS is now positioned against M and AMG, why else do you think we will soon see 3 to 4 different RS models all on sale all at the same time

Well said, I think hes just looking for ways to make himself feel better about BMW's lack of power compared to audi competition or something.

I wonder if Audi will make a plus version of the next RS models, or even a hardcore stripped out ones to put that CSL in its place.

Yep, I also agree with RICHBOY, it`s only logical that the RS models compete with M and AMG. I believe the S-Models are Audi`s answer to the sports packaged Mercedes and BMW models. Audi just has their own unique way of doing business with the sports-line calls S. I think anyone would agree with me here.
