A6/S6/RS6 New Audi RS6 Avant Official Thread

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

That car is impressive, to say the least. Other than the typical Audi amenities that you will find inside, the car is astoundingly good. I would have to say it is leaving the M5 behind in everything. Why no sedan?

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

I'm loving the car!! Nice, but the interior just has a hint of dullness.

Also, those wheel arches remind me too much of the impreza. I don't mean that in a bad way, so I don't want people attacking me. The proof is below.

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

I can see you're point but I think the way they are "made" on the RS6 is much better than on the Impreza.
I also think that Impreza isn't a good car as the EVO's.

So..
I have a friend that has a Subaru Impreza.. I actually haven't tought about the fact that he's got those wheel arches. you don't really notice or pay attention to them - you rather drive the Impreza than look at it. It's not a pretty car. (IMO)

but on the Audi.. it's just :icondrool
(Take the best that exist and make it better - RR) :usa7uh:

Edit: And of course the old quattro got them

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

ahh.. i knew i've seen those kinds of wheel arch somewhere beside the original quattro, it's the impreza!

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

It looks like they released the RS6 as an Avant to emphasis the useability and accessibility to power that Audi has shown to us.

Good for them. I'm glad that Audi has presented the Avant as their premiere RS product - It's Audi's strength and it's what sets them apart from the competition.

Something I just noticed - I really like that this car don't have any goofy side molding that brakes up on the door seams. It's awesome that a car can be so agressive and over the top but at the same time look so balanced, unfied and under control.

I like at the end where the dual climate control is at 27C and 17C. Can you imagine? "Hey buddy! Can you knock it off? It's freezing in here!"

Am I the only one here who does not like the front lights?
It looks like they used the quickest and easiest way to put the leds in the old lights...

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

Could anybody who's got time and skills, make e CGI on a RS6 Sedan from a S6 Sedan picture?

Yes they did. We might even see them on the face lifted A6. The new generation LED lights will debut on the new A6. Gotta save some for the next generation. :)

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

Sick car..:icondrool Glove is thrown to BMW and MB´s face and I expect some serious updates on both M5 and E63 to beat this.

Audi RS6 unfit for US consumption

3cbb9bbbf8f9da63ba03e9bd8b9b3f13.webpAnd now, we bring you the sad cap to the whirlwind 24-hour saga that has been the official announcement of Audi's sublimely monstrous RS6 ahead of its physical debut in Frankfurt. The Car Connection reports that like so many appealing cars offered to happy drivers in markets outside the US, the Audi RS6 is staying home. Apparently, a US version was never considered. As such, we're left to look longingly at photos and a very inviting spec sheet.

Late-night emergency diaper runs will have to be made with something less potent, and the satisfaction of dusting off that guy next to you in a Porsche 911 will be left to others for whom English is probably a second language. We don't get to hear what the V10's already-intoxicating noise sounds like with the addition of a couple of turbos. No, the car that would supplant its S8 cousin as perhaps the ultimate sleeper will remain an ocean away. More ghost ship than Q-ship, RS6 will be the stuff of legend that few of us ever get to experience firsthand. What a shame.

DAMN! DAMN!! DAMN!!!:eusa_thin

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

^^
Not surprising. Barely anyone in the US wants to buy a 100k avant, the Porsche Cayenne is a more attractive choice for many. Bring on the sedan Audi and show love to the folks on the other side of the atlantic.

Re: Official pics and info: new Audi RS6

I don't get it.

The 2003 Audi RS6+ had a V8 BiTurbo with 480hp, with the car weight of 1865kg, and it also did 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds.

So, 160 kg more, but with 100hp more and a V10 TT, the car should defenitely do faster to 100 than 4.6 sec.

Audiholic, THOSE FIGURES MEAN NOTHING! :t-hands: Audi always presents pretty modest figures, it might run a 4.6 in the rain maybe!:D

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
