A3/S3/RS3 New A3 - CGI by AutoBild

The Audi A3 is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Audi AG since September 1996. The first two generations of the Audi A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, while the third and fourth generations use the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
The only problem is that A3 won't be getting LED lights at least not in this generation.

I noticed the LED is only used for the signal lights in the main lights housing, not LED main lights like the one coming for the R8..

Sexy, I love the sharp edges on the sides which he also seen on the TT. The A3 has already been facelifted, another facelift on the way or is that just a random GC?

Too close to the current car. R&T had a CGI of their take on the next A3, and it looks like more of what one would expect of a newer Audi compact. None of us can say what it will look like for sure, but I'd venture to say: "this ain't it".

From what i have heard the A3 will be completely redesigned in 2009 which is only 2 years from now. I doubt if A3 will get another facelift (the 3 door A3 already got a facelift 2 years ago when the new Audi grille was used.

I'm very eager too see how far will Audi go with new Mk designs (A3, A4, A6, A8).

Will be a mild evolution only (like eg. Infiniti G35?), or a strong evolution (like eg. BMW 3er)?

The only thing that is certain: since copues are usually most emotional & exciting cars, A5, TT and R8 are current "peaks" of Audi emotional designs. Hatches, sedans and avants will be more conservative , I guess. :t-hands:

So ...

That AutoBild CGI can indeed be a new Mk A3, and not a facelift.

That's a facelift of the current model not a new one that's for sure. Also the next VW Golf is now being redesigned from Walter de Silva and noone really knows how it will end up looking (the previously approved from Bernd Pischetsrieder design will be significantly altered).

In a few words Autobild is full of BS this time.

Yes, I doubt AB is right this time.

But ... The question remains: how evolutionary & emotional will designs of new Audi core models be (A3, A4, A6, A8)? :t-hands:

Regarding Golf: I recall Winterkorn said recently VW needed stronger design identity & family resemblance. Whatever that means. :t-hands:

Thanks for the info Yannis. Right now I'm seriously considering the A3 as lightly used models are now starting to show up in the US.

If there's no serious change in the A3 program expected for the next couple of years I'm that much closer to having my mind made up.

The new A3 and A3 Cabrio will feature an evolution of the Audi grill design according to a Top Gear magazine I read

Golf VI in the back looks better! :D

Really, I think the lights are way too large on that PS, just look stupid!

Don't think much of the F/L or new A3 either!

I used to really like audi's, but after seeing the A5 and Q7, looks like they're going to stay bland and unexciting for a while!

Yes, really! :D I know it's a PS, but i was imaging the real deal looking like that and if so, yes, 10 times better than Audi...:D

Sorry, just diggin that ps...:usa7uh:

:t-cheers:

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
