Well the king is the M3 not the 335i so till infiniti comes with a car that can beat the M3 that's crap and btw that infiniti is so ugly compared to the bimmer!
 
I heard Infiniti is going to sell their cars in Europe. Fine. Best of luck to them, they will need it badly!
 
I give credits to infiniti that they have diff, (LSD) standard on their G37 while on the 335i bmw doesnt even offer diff for their 335i. Shame on BMW!
 
Road and track or Car and Driver, not sure which one has the same test and they concluded the exact opposite - not it means much. But the G37 was way slower in acceleration.

In a not so distant future BMW cars will get either EDL function (enabled only when DSC is disabled - like in 123d & 135i coupe), or a real electro-mechanical active differential (DPC).

Well as Just_me said i'm a MB guy but i really ment what i wrote the bimmer looks way more classy and elegant than the infiniti,it looks like a typical jap toy sorry but that what i think!
 
OK let me get this straight... the G37 has more hp yet it’s slower, it has an archaic 5-speed tranny, weighs more and sucks more gas... and yet it's the king?

Somebody please explain to me (because I don't want to bother reading the whole article).
 
I think some of you guys are too blinded by german cars. I'm not saying that MT is right but the fact is that the G37 is probably the best choice if you don't have the money to buy a 335.

Give credit when credit is due. This is infinity's second car that actually goes head to head with 3er. They're much closer to the 3er than anyone else in the world. For a company's second time, that isn't bad, considering how long BMW has had to perfect the 3er.

Yep, that is a impressive of them to offer LSD as a standard package.

It is the king because it is $8K cheaper than the 335i.

There won't be any because it won't make sense to compare the 135i with the G37.

They declared G37 a winner due its performance figures were only marginally worse than 335i ones, while G37 (estimated!!!) price tag was significantly lower. They also complained about BMW engine was running (too) hot.

So, basically 335i is still better (marginally) yet too expensive. So because G37 is a better value-for-money (based on estimated price!!!) it won the duel.

That's what I figured, then it should be called the king of cheap performance... not the king period ;)


Oh and shame on Motor Trend to declare a winner based on a factor that is estimated... [SARCASM] that's automotive journalism at its best [/SARCASM]

Are you sure? I guess estimated price tags will be similar. :D

And 135i will be a winner ... due better performance & better value-for-money. :D;) And especially due having larger cargo volume. :laugh2:

Yes. The point is "G37 is probably the best choice if you don't have the money to buy a 335". It is best possible 335i substitute, yet still not as good as original 335i.

Mind that G37 features LSD, while 335i doesn't. That was pure marketing decision by BW - to exclude LSD from regular models & offer it in M-models only: to make M-models more special & more sport oriented.

Now when competition is coming closer, BMW will again start to offer differential locking: either as EDL function, or true electro-mechanic active differential (DPC) in some non-M cars. Also in the next generations of cars BMW will start to use double wishbone front suspension - for even greater driving dynamics. Also active suspension will be used even more severely in the future.

Also Nissan has a lot of racing & sports car experiences (mind Skyline GT-R) so I'm sure they are able to challenge BMW more than anyone. But BMW are not standing still. And expect N54 engine output to be increased in the future (eg with facelift).
