Horribly staged. The Ferrari traps 8mph higher at the 1/4 mile and loses some trap trap speed at the 1/2 mile. Not possible. You can actually see him lift off the second he passes the Porsche. You see the same thing happening in the GT500 and Vette race. And yes, I know, the races are based on the tested times. I guess they had to keep it close.

Loosing trap speed difference is possible. The Porsche had more time for accelerating between the 1/4 and haf-mile and it's harder to accelerate at higher speeds. The video was staged of course, the 911 paused accelerating after the start to let the F8 pass which waited later.
