I I did not see it coming... Lamborghini is the winner. I think no car has been awarded twice a trophéethus year, this is quite uncommon.

Its not the Huracan EVO RWD that is tested, its the 4-wheel-drive versionWow. I also did not see that coming. Contradictions in video vs text abound. I won't go into it, watch the vids and read the write-ups for yourselves.
Make no mistake: I am definitely not unhappy that the EVO RWD won - I love that car and its NA V10 is a last hurrah for tone, timbre and texture. It's certainly the most emotive engine I've ever experienced. The EVO RWD acquitted itself well on both sides of the pond, winning here and placing in the top 3 at ECOTY.
I still can't help but feel that the 911 Turbo S isn't getting its due. I think it's the best all round sports car on sale today and, given a windfall, it's easily the first car I'd go out and spend my money on.
I beg your pardon, you are right. I have too much ECOTY on my mind. Its not the Huracan EVO RWD that is tested, its the 4-wheel-drive version
So do I think. Looks like people are looking for a sense of occasion that the Turbo is not providing enough (something I have a hard time to imagine). I guess the GT3 might take most of the wins next year though.I still can't help but feel that the 911 Turbo S isn't getting its due. I go back to this video...So do I think. Looks like people are looking for a sense of occasion that the Turbo is not providing enough (something I have a hard time to imagine). I guess the GT3 might take most of the wins next year though.
There's the big contradiction to just about every other report out there on the 992 Turbo S. Most have asserted that whilst the Turbo S is mega on a circuit, it perhaps is too clinical and capable to deliver real world road enjoyment. That's very much what the folks over at EVO enthused.Above all, the Lambo doesn't lose any of that sensation when you put it on a track. That is the failing of the Porsche 911 Turbo S; all those tingly feelings it gave you on the road got dulled on the track. The Lamborghini was always thrilling to drive no matter where or when. And it was as thrilling and confidence-inspiring on the open road as it was on the closed track.
It has been discussed at length before they match the videos to the instrumented individual tests. Part of the reason I do not care for MT.Horribly staged. The Ferrari traps 8mph higher at the 1/4 mile and loses some trap trap speed at the 1/2 mile. Not possible. You can actually see him lift off the second he passes the Porsche. You see the same thing happening in the GT500 and Vette race. And yes, I know, the races are based on the tested times. I guess they had to keep it close.
I am not sure how 0.2s between the Huracan and the Porsche equates to "10 car lenghts" they mentioned during the actual race, but that's Motortrend for you. Quality publication. Not to mention all the nonsense about how or why each car won. "Turbo torque" didn't win the race, AWD doesn't "overcome weight", it made no difference that the TRX "is supercharged", etc...It has been discussed at length before they match the videos to the instrumented individual tests. Part of the reason I do not care for MT.
