Mini Rocketman Concept Car

Holy crap, Eni is back? DAMN, been ages.

As for this car, it's cute and weird. I really love the roof and the tail-gate solution on this car.

Nice weight saving! Given BMW's CF research initiative together with Mercedes I can picture Mini paving the way for CF in small hatchbacks.

You and I both know that it's real carbon. This little Mini probably costs 200,000 Euros, looking at the sheer attention to crazy Rolls Royce like detail. The production version will be severely watered down in every possible way.

i think so to. but with the help of "BMW i" carbon could actually get a lot cheaper. Until now carbon parts weren't able to be mass produced, in the "i" press conference they stated that they are now able to do so. so lets wait and see.

one thing that i still need to criticize
its aprox. 20cm smaller then the R53(the first new mini)
does it really make such a difference ?

or how an austrian would say "das macht das kraut auch nicht fett"

It's a fantastic concept, well done to the people at MINI. I love the relevance of the whole thing and that it's packed with futuristic stuff like the different composite panels, door hinge mechanism, ambient lighting and uber-cool dashboard.

Yeah - it's great - futurist yet plausible, relevant and cool all in one go. My kind of concept car.

Yes. The second Mini Cooper is already much bigger compared to the first, and the third one coming up will grow even more compared to the first Mini Cooper....and now this new one will be 20 cm SMALLER than the first new Mini.

That's a lot, and if they decide to make this Rocketman, the difference in size between it and the 3rd gen Mini will be huge!!
Heck, just look at the pic of the old Mini and this Rocketman. The old Mini is not much smaller.

This huge DRL LED ring feature around headlights is something future MINIs will certainly adopt. :usa7uh:

Btw, the baby MINI is a cuttie. :)

CF galore ... although not as much as in BMW i models.

Welcome back :usa7uh:

I like the LED rings and hope they will spread!

but we are still far off saying that they
"Potentially buried Smart."
because they already had a generation of minis which nearly had the same size

the second thing is, does the MINI really need to become a Polo (in terms of size)

The design is a bit busy, but I'm loving this little guy!
awesome sketches by John Buckingham too!

I agree some general detail are too bussy, like the rearlights, but I wouldn´t expect those details to go into production, so no problem.

What I´ve always thought, and now even more after having seen this concept, is that the current MINI is too big. This Concept has much better proportions than the car we have today.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
