C'mon, that's a early 90s corolla vs. a the current gen C-class. This outcome is a no brainer. This is a childish comparison.

MB invented in crumple-zone back in the 1950s.. it would seem every other car manufactor would have adopted that technology, even in the 90s.

Judging from the photo, it seems like the Japanese were still using the passanger compartment as part of the crumple zone

That's true but it's also true that Japanese cars were not very safe a few years ago.

So no one was in the E? What's Eisstockschiessen?

My dad was sitting inside the E-Class with my dog. The engine was turned off and he was about to exit the car when the VW Golf comes around the curve out of control and slams into the car.

Thankfully, my dad and dog were fine. Nothing happened to them. The dog might have gotten a shock though.

Eisstockschiessen is this (below). You need to hit a cube. The icestick that is closest to the cube wins.

That's true but it's also true that Japanese cars were not very safe a few years ago.

Well, neither were all German cars. If you take a look at EURONCAP web site you will find that Audi A4 got only 2 and a 1/2 stars (or 3 of which one is "flagged") back in 1997, BMW 3er got only 2 stars of which one is flagged and MB C-Class got 2 stars. Same year Nissan Primera got 3 (full) stars.
