So many reviews so little time... here they all are!

Although it hasn't been released here in the states (yet), several automotive journalists have already had the good fortune of testing Mercedes' newest flagship sedan, the S-Class, and have posted reviews of what we all have to look forward to in the coming months.

The reviews are somewhat sparse, but as the release of the S draws nigh, I'm sure we'll all be graced with a countless number of additional thoughts, comments and opinions. In the meantime, this should hold you over a little longer, and we'll be sure to update our review roundup as more S-Class reviews are published.

Enjoy.

Nice review from Automobile Magazine! I like the fact that MB has improved the ABC suspension to react 60% better than the previous version used on the W220 S-Class, which was very effective btw. I also like this photo.

Needs to be in black and better resolution and it would be Wallpaper worthy!

Wow damn that picture is hot.. and some still say that the car doesent look good :D... haha

I just read the other reviews and I`m tired already. :eusa_doh:
Thay sound good but quit typical to any S-Class fan. Seems MB was conservitive in the technological developement stage with this S-Class more than any other version.

yea i suppose, i read on mbspy.com ages ago (3 years ago may be!!) that it was going to have bumpers that popped out in accidents and it was going to communicate with other mercedes to pass on road and traffic conditions...may be when the facelift comes out it will get it!? but whatever they do someone will have a problem with it, apparently the w220 had too many innovations for its own good and thats why it has electrical faults and now they have made something with fewer innovations and people are saying there could have been more.....?? people cant have hundreds of innovations and 100% reliebility, everything electrical will develop a fault at some point...

Thats just another amazing picture this car will sell like crazy :D

Or maybe we've reached the ceiling for this segment? It has nothing to do with wanting or not wanting to make inovations... I think that that can be a bad thing when you strive to be the number one and invent things that are useless. For example, the nightvision was horribly executed. It might have been a good innovation if they actually made it a part of a heads up display instead of the instrument cluster.

You can improve so much on car and after a while, it will reach to the point where it's going to start slowing down in terms of inovations.

I`m sorry but I couldn`t agree with you on the position of the Nite-View
system. Thay couldn`t have put it in a better spot than where it is,
right in the line of vision! Remember, when this system is on the speedo
turns into a bar-graph, This was excellent engineering and well thought out
if you ask me!

The nightvision is nothing new, Cadillac has had it for years on the DTS displayed via HUD. HUD is not the answer either, too much glare.

BMW actually has there night vision ststem in the HUD section but think thats a bad place for it. Glancing down compared to looking away is two different things imo.

Either way you either have to change your focus to see the HUD or move your eyes to see the screen. Neither are very ideal.

True, logically your going to look how fast your going anyway.
The S has it in the best position I think.

I have to say that this segment is quite interesting.

The Audi A8, BMW 7er and MB S class compete in this segment as you all know. What is so interesting is that all the newset innovations that the manufactuers have come up with, or are going to incorporate, are put first in this segment. Then it trickles down to the others. This is incredible for the people who can afford the cars in this segment.

I think that based on style the S classs is going to sell very well if not the best in the segment. The BMW 7er dispite my love for it will not live up, and neither will the Audi A8. I think that what is new is new and the new things are what sells just like anything else in the market, but the design is so sexy and stylish and captivating that I don't think anyone could resist not having it. Either way we will have to wait and see what happens.
