^^I'm not sure I would say Rolls-Royce has lost its spirit -- I just think it has become a more relevant luxury vehicle for the 21st century. Rolls-Royce would never survive if it continued producing cars like the Silver Seraph.

The Phantom is big and bold ......a grand statement. It is what the market wants.

Exactly!! Rolls has not lost it`s magnificent charactor. The blood is rich with Royal elegance. The Phantom is very much fit for a king, Rolls has met the needs of it`s clientele while staying true to it`s magnificent heritage. Even if you took the decals off you would still say, "thats a Rolls Royce"

Another amazing photo of the Ocean Drive.
I believe this car will turn out fantastic!

At the beginning, I hate this car. Don't like those LEDs lights, hate the colour and the interior! But now, after several month, I really begin to love the car! The wood in the interior is the only little thing, I can't stand! But overall it's a fantastic car! :t-cheers:

Same here Ihno. Didn't like the OD at all when I first saw it, but am now starting to warm to it a whole lot. Most definitely prefer it to the Maybach Landaulet - assuming you can even draw the comparison.

^^That is a nice picture :usa7uh: .

I am still struggling to see how Maybach could possibly think it is viable to produce a cheaper model if this is going to go into production as a Mercedes-Benz.

Daimler obviously believes the way to beat the competition is by out-blinging everyone else -- who would have thought that was possible after the Phantom DHC.

I still think it is far too extroverted (bordering on vulgar) for a traditionally dignified Mercedes ...but that seems to be where luxury car design is going unfortunately. However, it is a real show-stopper and unlike Maybach, it is very unlikely there will be any difficulties finding buyers for this vehicle.

^^As far away as this design is from traditional MB's, at the same time it has something distinctly MB. I don't know exactly how, but I don't think any other company can pull this off and still retain their heritage. In the picture above, this car looks way beyond Rolls.

Hahahaha!

Seriously, i hope this thing goes into production. I'm starting to really like it.

One thing that concerns me is rigidity. Having a 4-door convertible is a recipie for a very wobbly body structure. The only way i guess Merc can correct this is to put more reinforcements to the structure therefore adding more weight. Plus they'd have to put an even bigger and powerfull engine to lug this thing around, thereby increasing weight, costs and more pollution. Quite an engineering dilema eh?

^^ I think Daimler will put this into production ...in fact, I am certain they will. As for rigidity, I have no concerns ...it will be an all-aluminium space frame. It might have separate compartments for front and rear passengers to give it greater rigidity -- just a thought.

It looks like Daimler are not the only ones thinking of producing such a car.

The Phantom is not pimped at all ....it certainly gets pimped a lot, but it does not come pre-pimped like this does. It'll save time for its clientèle ...so it's a good thing

Perhaps my taste is 'vulgar' but I don't grasp how you differentiate between this and the Rollers (not just the phantom, but the convertible etc.). :D
