T-Class/Citan Mercedes Citan has Rust!!

The Mercedes-Benz Citan is a panel van and leisure activity vehicle introduced as a badge-engineered variant of the Renault Kangoo in 2012 and marketed by Mercedes-Benz as the successor to the Vaneo compact MPV. In the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, the Citan is the smallest model offered, alongside the mid-size V-Class (aka Viano, Vito, and EQV) and the large Sprinter.

Hi all I purchased a Mercedes Citan 111 brand new in 2017. 1 year later and it’s started to develop rust on both front doors in the corner by the windows.

I contacted Mercedes and they said bring it in. When they saw the rust they booked me into a Mercedes approved body shop which I took it too, they then measured the paint thickness and said they have never seen it so low around the windows and it’s the 3rd one now that they have had in with the same rust.

I left the van with the body shop and it’s been there for 8 weeks and now as they have been waiting for an order number from Mercedes so they could start the work!

Plus the air conditioning has stopped blowing cold too which apparently will be done under warranty i suggest anyone who wants to buy one of these vans Don’t bother!!

Mercedes have not contacted me at all about what’s going on such a poor service from them

Have you got any photos of the rust around the windows?

Have the photos uploaded?

Hmmm...

Manufactured by a subsidiary company of Renault called MCA in Northern France. Maybe you'd have had more luck with a Kangoo!
