So apparently the way that thing works is below 3000rpm it has cross-plane exhaust pulses, and above 3000rpm (i.e when it needs power) it goes back to flat plane exhaust pulses. Neat system.

The proportions of the body's architecture and the surfacing of the sheetmetal, the tension achieved make the statement. Devoid of all and any senseless, tacked- or pasted-on kitsch. Tacked-on afterthough trash is nothing more than an insecure response to a nagging suspicion that "something is missing"-often when that is not at all the case.

Respectfully, that video doesn't say a single thing new that we haven't heard a million times already and some of it is just reaching BS.

Mercedes-Benz Cars AG is most certainly not in danger of becoming insolvent, much less required to file for bankruptcy. It's cash reserves (i.e. "liquidity") are more than abundant.

But yes, there is certainly much room for improvements. Not only pertaining to M-B in the context of German-based manufacturers.

The transition between electric and ice and vice versa isn’t seamless.

That’s not the experience you want in a model that’s meant to be the pinnacle of Mercedes. Power delivery should be consistent. The facelift would be better off with a V8TT.

-StraightPipes and Cars South Africa mentioned that gearbox can be lurchy.

-Autocar mentioned that the boost bt the electric motor kicks in inconsistently.

-Carwow found the brake-regen to be jerky.

-Autoexpress had experience of brakes to be grabby.

-Mobil 1 mentioned that the car becomes very smooth............................once you deleted the battery and let the V8 work on its on.


However I don't know whether these are software related issues that have been remedied in the most recent model year.

I guess the biggest issue is the small trunk.

My biggest issue was, the extra weight and complexity was just not worth the power. Much better to have a near-700hp lighter model with a normal sized trunk.

All can be fixed. Not major things that warrant dumping the system is my point. You seem to think that cars are perfect and get no complaints about anything from anyone. I would dump the system for weight and cost not what you’re talking about.

Simply exquisite body surfacing. So clean. No trace of afterthought B.S. And...conceivably applicable regarding M-B (AMG) products. Ideal for distinguishing them from the more "rigid, angular" BMW/ALPINA (and soon, Audi) new design paradigm. In this particular case, M-B (AMG) can absorb a thing or two from BRABUS autobody craft.
