Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
AFAIK You can always import the car as a used car from the US, but it must be at least 6 months old.
US versions doesn’t have gpf and therefore don’t meet the current emissions and noise levels, but because it’s a used car it doesn’t matter.

That’s something people can still do with the V12 S680 although I guess noise levels are not an issue with this car.
There was a period where a lot of people were importing cars from the USA to Switzerland.... you used to see a lot of those yellow reflector lights ... I think it was the 2000s ?

I would never say that Mercedes would end up like this one day.

Before anyone starts swearing at me that its “AI slop” or whatever the f, there is enough speculation in this thread to leave some space for this - imho - great Le Mans concept made by “ev_o_lu_m_e_3”. As an admirer of the CLK GTRs design, I think this would be sick on todays roads, much cooler than the AMG 1:

It takes some inspiration from the wheel arches of that early 20th-century model that broke all speed records.

Speaking in relation to this…Is the Aston Martin Valhalla Mercedes’s rear Mid-Engine Supercar in disguise?😄

It looks gorgeous indeed, but no Mercedes DNA whatsoever. Cover the Mercedes logo and it could be every other hypercar.

I saw an EQE sedan the other day and I must admit, it was an attractive vehicle from the angle I saw it. Alpine Gray with night package and, perhaps, the AMG sports package. This car was just marketed wrong. And priced totally wrong too.

Due to high demand for the refreshed model, Mercedes-Benz will restart production of the S-Class at its Sindelfingen factory in the summer of 2026 using a two-shift system.
Deliveries to customers will begin in mid-May 2026.

Reviews are for next week?

I completely forgot about jesmeb. They have everything first.

They’re pouring a lot of money for these cars (including the AMG SUV) knowing that they’re gonna flop horribly. Interesting move by them. Gotta love the enthusiasm.

I can only imagine that M-B AMG are more than aware that they will be relying on the reception and unit sales in Germany, The Netherlands, Scandanavia, Austria and the U.K. Maybe California as well. But otherwise, these cars are likely to be very "tough sells".

Meh. The minimum amount of buttons to be able to say “see? We hear you guys”.

BS!
Yes this is total BS answer from the MB Marketing Executive. They only added 2 scrolling rollers to the steering wheel for the volume and cruise control but still using crap capacitive buttons for the rest of the steering wheel. Only other buttons are added in the new FL S-class for a few things on the dash but to control HVAC and switch on the seat heaters and memory buttons for seats have to go in the screen. They need to bring more buttons, there is still too much BS used on the screen to control HVAC and seats and car lights!!

VW doing a much better job of bringing buttons back for the HVAC controls and steering wheel. I love the ID Polo interior more than the CLA!!

I mean that's why they haven't binned the V12 entirely. It exists in markets where people buy them.
And I would imagine (or at least hope), if you asked for a custom order V12 Maybach in Europe, they'd give you one, as long as you're happy to pay the inordinate taxes. I suppose that's what the S680 Guard is for though.

What would be REALLY interesting would be another V12 Black Series like the SL65 back in the day, but with AMGs current chassis engineering experience. Or I guess a Mythos.

That engine isn't really built for sports car applications, but Pagani seems to enjoy it's boundless torque.
If Pagani can get a V12 built by AMG for their puny 200 Utopias to be built over 10 years then 1000 people who want to order a $350K V12 Maybach a year should definitely get their V12 engines instead of a V8. It makes economical sense and Mercedes will benefit as well as the rich customer. I reckon its probably more expensive to produce the hybrid powertrain and 4-cylinder in the C63 than the V12.

Good news for the production of GLC and CLA models.

Mercedes GLC EQ with extra shifts on Saturdays

Mercedes manufactures the GLC EQ and the CLA EQ in three-shift operation

Mercedes has announced that it delivered 34% more electric cars in Q1 2026 than in the same quarter last year.

However, this does not yet show the full dynamic. Order intake, on the other hand, was 107% compared to the same quarter last year.

Mercedes is currently trying everything to meet the pleasing order situation

The CLA EQ is manufactured in Rastatt in three-shift operation.

The new GLC EQ (X540) also rolls off the production line in three-shift operation at the Bremen plant in Hall 9. Due to the high demand, there are now additional shifts on Saturdays.

However, it is difficult to draw conclusions about the exact production figures. In Hall 9 at the Mercedes plant in Bremen, the C-Class, the GLC combustion engine, the EQE and the electric GLC will be produced fully flexibly. However, Mercedes could shift the GLC combustion engine shares (X254) more to its second production facility in Sindelfingen in order to have more capacity for the GLC EQ in Hall 9 in Bremen.

This is probably not so easy to do, as you have a certain limitation in the production rate of the battery cells from your supplier. Some customers who had already ordered their GLC EQ at the end of October 2025 (with a production date of April 2026) received new production dates, some of which had to be pushed back 2 months.

These bottlenecks in the production ramp-up have now been largely resolved. The reason for this is said to have been the battery.

The fact that Mercedes customers enjoy the highest priority is now also shown by the measure that the Mercedes managers (from E4 onwards) have CLA EQ and GLC EQ models already ordered as company cars cancelled and transferred to other models, e.g. plug-in hybrids.

Delivery times for the CLA EQ remain at the beginning of Q4 2026.

The GLC EQ also has long delivery times.
