imagine a revised M156 with 7800-8000rpm max, Forged Pistons & Rods in today’s date paired with the 725.0 MCT ? Such a thing would be unstoppable!
This would be absolute perfection.

For countries with high CO2 tax, they could still combine it with the P2 Hybrid.
150kW and 25-26kWh of battery capacity.
 
I would assume because nobody bought one and those who wanted a V8 probably just bought the E63.
Here’s the problem with the 63 now, it just costs alot.

The GLE53 AMG costs as much a GLE580. Why not make an E580 that costs the same as a E53 AMG? V8 for less money.

Because the 63 AMG is gonna cost like 40k more, So why not offer an E580 V8 that costs as much as the E53 AMG?🤷‍♂️

I don’t know what market you’re talking about and that literally has nothing to do with Mercedes introducing an E580. The car wouldn’t be aimed at the tuner crowd.

Okay here’s the problem, we in 2026. Tuning is the main idea now😂.

You think people buying these 40i BMWs are buying them because they are better than Mercs, Audi & Lexus? No it’s all based around tuning.

Having a highly tunable car is the new ‘Halo’ now. When someone sees that a 50k car has the ability to be tuned to a 1000hp they want to be in that to be deemed as ‘COOL’ even though they won’t necessarily tune it to 1000hp also.

Cause if it were a different case & it was all about looks & being built right the W214 E53 would be besting the G90 M5 in sales since E53 costs less & is far more beautiful But however that’s NOT the case.

For example If someone/a company can find a way to make all M256 cars to make 800hp with an intake & a tune right now all for $1500, You’ll see just how much people will boost the 450/500/53 AMG sales. Im talking 300%. Them G8x cars are just too ugly to be selling like that let’s be honest, it’s all in the tunability😂🤷‍♂️

That’s just how people buying these cars are wired now. That could in return boost sales for Merc.

Why on Earth would Mercedes introduce a cheaper E580, that can be tuned to be as or more powerful than an E63.... when they could just sell an E63.

The most popular E-class by far is the 220d. No point developing an E580, when nobody really wants one. There is a market for a GLE580, because its a big f#cking SUV that weighs near enough a half tonne more. For most people an E450/450d is enough. For inbetweeners the E53 Hybrid is more than enough.
For the V8 nutters, go ahead and make an E63, they'll buy it.

Gentlemen have you engaged with the current crowd out here in the streets yet? The new crowd wants a cheap car that’s easy to tune. They don’t want an expensive car that’s maxed out from factory without any potential to build it upon.

This is the reason why the C63se & E53e are currently not selling as much.

A Mercedes-Benz wasn't, isn't and never will be a cheap car that's easy to tune. Some of them might be easy to tune, but they've never been cheap. To buy or own.

But also, a reminder. An E580 V8 will not be cheap. It'll start at at least $100,000. Probably more. And so you've already lost the "Cheap" part.

If you want to tune up a cheap car, get a used W211 or W212 E500, or preferably a JDM car so that you're not bankrupted by the repairs/maintenance.

The C63e is not selling because its a hybrid 4 cylinder not because its expensive, though that is a contributing factor. At the same price with a V8, the C63 would have sold gangbusters.

EXACTLY. People right now want a C63 V8 , so anything from Mercedes closer to that & can also be tuned will sell like craaazy.

It'll also sell like crazy if they charge more for the full-fat AMG, instead of leaving profit on the table with an E580.

Listen. I would love a non-AMG V8 E class. I don't need sports car handling in my sedan. I just want a comfortable, fast, powerful cruiser that isn't shouting about how V8y it is. However, I know I'm a minority.
