So how is Mercedes going to do the next generation GLE and GLS? Will there be one platform with ICE and EV or will the do it like they did with the GLC, same name, but different platforms for EV and ICE?

The MB.EA L platform, which will be used in the S-Class, could be used in these vehicles. There could be two different platforms, like the W224 S-Class.
 
The more I get to know this car, the more I see the ix3 as just a design car. The GLC feels like a much more meticulously crafted vehicle. The attention to detail, the perception of quality, and the feeling of luxury are top-notch.

IMHO, configuration is more crucial (regarding the aesthetic) in the case of the GLC EQ. Get that part down pat, and it can be an attractive looking vehicle. Of course, subjective for the most part and a matter of personal tastes.

It appears undeniable that M-B has done their homework regarding interior fit, finish and materials. Bravo.

Mercedes‑AMG caused attention last year with the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT. AMG fans from all over the world wondered what this spectacular concept had to do with a further derivative of the GT family. Now the answer is here: the concept car serves as a technology platform for no fewer than two exceptional performance models. It forms the basis for the new Mercedes‑AMG GT3 and the future Mercedes‑AMG GT Black Series – the current GT family is thus being expanded by two models.

Two vehicles, one promise: uncompromising performance
With this project, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach once again underlines its ambition to set new standards in both Customer Racing and on the road.

The road-legal variant of the concept car serves as a homologation model for the GT3 successor. The name “TRACK SPORT” was chosen deliberately – as a bridge between the uncompromising track performance of the Mercedes‑AMG GT3 and the extreme yet road-legal performance that has always characterised the Black Series models.

Since October 2025, the prototype – camouflaged with yellow-green and red accents – has been undergoing extensive dynamic testing on test tracks and racetracks. In addition to the in-house development track in Immendingen, this has included Bilster Berg, Portimão and Monteblanco. With the start of the testing phase on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the next stage of development is now underway.

Also the colours are now clearly defined: red will in future represent the Mercedes‑AMG GT3 as a central element of the Mercedes‑AMG Motorsport colour scheme, whilst yellow-green will represent the Mercedes‑AMG GT Black Series.

New Mercedes‑AMG GT3: The next generation in Customer Racing
The Mercedes‑AMG GT3 marks the logical evolution of Mercedes‑AMG’s successful Customer Racing Programme.

The foundations for the brand’s Customer Racing commitment were laid in 2010. The first full racing season followed in 2011 with the Mercedes‑Benz SLS AMG GT3. This success story has been consistently continued with the Mercedes‑AMG GT3 from 2016 and the Evo version from 2020.

The decision to develop a successor to the GT3 led to the establishment of Affalterbach Racing GmbH – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercedes‑AMG – which, together with Mercedes‑AMG Motorsport, is responsible for the development and construction of the new vehicle.

The new GT3 is currently in an intensive development phase. The aim is to continue the successful Customer Racing legacy whilst setting new standards in performance, safety and competitiveness.

AMG Black Series: Racing DNA for the road
Power, endurance and boundless performance – this describes the pinnacle of the Mercedes‑AMG range. Since 2006, selected models have borne the coveted ‘Black Series’ designation.

As is well known, AMG’s roots lie in motor racing. In 1967, it was the visionary idea of founders Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher to develop cars based on Mercedes vehicles that could meet the performance demands of professional motor racing. The focus was on transferring racing DNA to the road.

A key model in this development was the Mercedes‑Benz SLK 55 AMG. With its powerful 360 hp 5.5-litre V8 engine, it demonstrated its impressive performance in Formula 1®, amongst other places, as the official FIA F1® Safety Car. Whilst the model range itself was designed for the road, versions of the SLK 55 developed specifically for an Asian racing series provided the decisive impetus for the subsequent “Black Series” model range. The project ran internally under the working title “TRACK SPORT” and symbolised the attempt to transfer the uncompromising track focus directly to a road-legal vehicle. This approach ultimately culminated in 2006 in the Mercedes‑Benz SLK 55 AMG Black Series – a vehicle that embodied the spirit of motorsport in its purest form and laid the foundation for a tradition of bringing high-performance racing technology to the road.

This unique fusion of racing and road-legal vehicles brings the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT into the present day. The history of the Black Series stands for innovation, uncompromising performance and the constant pursuit of the limit. The CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT was another milestone on this journey, which now culminates in the standalone presentation of the new AMG GT3 and the future AMG GT Black Series – two vehicles that continue the legend and define the future of Mercedes‑AMG performance.

X192 we have the model designation. Compared to the C192 of the GT63/55/43.

I really want them to make a whole series based on this chassis, rather than just a black series and a GT3 racecar.
I'm sure they'd consider it if the demand is suitable enough. So those who are interested, go speak to your reps I guess.

Even if it's just a GTR and GTS with 650 and 550 hp that sit below the 800hp BS or whatever it ends up being, would be really good

The rear diffuser looks insane.
Not quite sure if both models have side-exhausts, but based on the shots of the rear, I guess they do. Will be the first road-going supercar with side exhausts from Mercedes since the SLR (the G wagen notwithstanding)
