They shouldn't have bothered with the Vision V nonsense if this is what they were going to bring.

I too hate it when the concepts don’t translate well enough to production. That concept van would be an instant hit. Mercedes is gonna have to be dragged a little more it seems. But let’s not act brand new, concepts rarely translate directly to production.

(Mini) Vans don't exist anymore. Dead segment. This could have been a thing 25 years ago. This car belongs on the commercial side of the equation, imho. Between the trucks it'd be a luxurious alternative.

Save the few and far between notable examples such as the 2003 CLS concept, this certainly applies in the case of M-B. Even the IMHO drop-dead stunning 2013 S-Coupe concept lost a massive amount in translation into the C217. A mere few millimeters can make a world of difference.

Of course, this applies to almost all other manufacturers as well.

In a rare occurrence, the actual production version of the S Coupe, looked better than the concept IMO. The shark nose was toned down and made the production car one of Mercedes best ever looking cars to me.

For me, the rear flank/wheelarch/haunch area on the C217 was a bit estranging in direct comparision with the concept. That particular expanse of the body was masterfully executed on the concept S-Coupe IMHO.

Very subtle, nauanced differences that alter the visual experience.

Definitely one of the best looking Mercedes coupes ever produced. I preferred the front grill and bumper design on the concept as it made the grill stand out more and gave it more of a classic Mercedes sports car appearance. The production car still too this day is stunning to look at on the road with a fantastic interior to match.
