Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Sales success? They were only limiting it to 250 units, which are all sold. I’m unsurprised AMG GTR Pro owners weren’t particularly interested, it was a bit of a poseur car. Nothing about the drivetrain or suspension setup was more hard core than the standard SL.

The Mythos isn’t above Maybach necessarily, the sub brand is just about small batches of special edition versions of current product. They aren’t going to create entirely bespoke versions of their cars like Rolls Royce and Ferrari, so they have this instead.

Most of the guys in my AMG GTR owners group have multiple vehicles, including proper track specials, amg one, ferraris, GT Blackseries, SLS.

Actually just asked the guy, he bought it, 750k, said its not getting drive and just parked up next to his 1965 ferrari 275 gtb and jag e-type.

Fingers crossed they get this right. It could be a huge new segment in the USA. The ride, interior, engines, EV tech and most of all engineer out that the horrible cheap sound that cargo van doors make when you slam them.

It's Mercedes...They'll do the absolute minimum they can do with its van underpinnings to justify selling it as a luxury 'passenger' vehicle.

I'm not expecting much effort in terms of engineering, with the concept once again being a big tease.

Think GLS, X-class etc.

The V-Class was never sold in US right?

Where did you get that information? They never announced in the media that it was sold out; on the contrary, they were quite silent about it, but perhaps I missed it.

Production plans exist for 250 such speedsters. All production slots have already been sold out via preorders, despite the fact that the first examples won’t ship until next year.

it will have air suspension, rear-steering & a VLS Maybach-like 4 seater version is coming😄

Objectively speaking, and without letting passion cloud our judgment, these types of vans are just as, if not more comfortable for long journeys than a sedan. The interior space and the "soft" suspension make a world of difference. On the other hand, the inevitable inertia in curves due to the high center of gravity is a drawback.
Space is their biggest selling point in terms of "luxury."

Yeah super popular especially in Gauteng in my area I see them daily.

I went to see the face-lift I must say I would not mind being driven in one of those from gauteng to Cape Town through the garden route the interior is very luxurious and spacious.
