Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Probably GLC will be the bestselling model. Unfortunately people are still favoring the SUV’s over other body styles, though I believe C-Class EV will also sell pretty great, judging by how successful CLA is at the moment. It all depends on the pricing.

Yeah but this teaser does actually look different, it doesn’t look like the same car.
I think that was AI. If you look closely at the star DRL’s they look wonky and weird, almost hand drawn.

It both has more structure and less structure at the same time.

Someone in Mercedes' product planning team needs to get fired. Cause how are they EQing the ICE cars with the grilles, and simultaneously de-EQing the actual EQ cars....

What is happening?

They are CONVERGING design philosophies.

Into one putrid mess!

GET WITH THE PROGRAM! LOL :ROFLMAO:

I am highly confident that come late 2028 we will finally again start to see some truly beautiful Mercedes. Tt's going to be a rough ride until then. Hang tight MB boys!

I’m still waiting to see where design or styling is the root of their sales problems, outside of the EQ models. I think that Mercedes sales problems stem from poor quality and a general consensus that they don’t build cars like they used too. Not to mention the 4-cylinder debacle and that their cars are merely competitive or not competitive in some instances vs buyers not buying because of a grille or headlights. Some of the comments here an imo are totally detached from reality. Their problem in China surely isn’t because of how their cars look. This crisis, sky is falling because the CLA’s front end or the GLB’s front end seeming only exists here. The car is selling isn’t it?

I don't think it has been a problem for the ICE models up to now, sales in US and Europe for the ICE models are still pretty good. China is definitely the problem as they losing 20 to 30% of their volume and this is because probably the people are wanting to buy local brands at cheaper prices with higher tech than the Mercedes EQ or EV models and ICE models sales are also declining. With the new FL models are appearing with some strange design details, we will have to see if this will affect the sales numbers.

Yeah i think they are just flushing out the EQ mess right now🤣. I Hope Bastian is cooking something generational for Mercedes currently.

The root of the sales problem is just the EQ cars. Not the styling, quality or tech specs, since all of that is fine for most people.
Get this EQ ordeal done with, have proper EV version of the core models (C, E, S, GLC, GLE and GLS) and see sales bounce upward to BMW levels.

AMGs with V8 engines and an actual E63 are going to help too, but that's minor in the overall picture.

Exactly. I think it's f#cking ghastly, but I am not in the market. The cars are selling, and good. The core needs EV and that's it. Nothing more and nothing less.

Will there be replacements for the EQE/EQS SUV’s in the future?
It would definitely make sense for them to reappear, but I suppose in the same format as the new E-Class EQ. based on what we've seen so far regarding the "new strategy," they should come as the GLE EQ and GLS EQ, with similar body styles, when the successors to the current models are launched in a few years.

It's worth remembering that the EQE SUV will cease production this year in favor of its temporary replacement, the GLC EQ, just as the sedan is rumored to be doing.

i think the EQE/EQS replacements will come in a form of a next GLE/GLS EV since they’ll share a platform with ICE variants. For now GLC EQ will take over EQE SUV part.

As far as I've understood, the W/V224 and it's EQ version will not share platforms. The architectural proportions/characteristics of their respective bodies will, however, be similar. As will various software attributes be identical. Or is this incorrect ?

Reviews for the CLA and EQB are glowing. Mercedes are nailing it with these EVs. Doing the same with the S would be fab.

However demand and appetite for EVs above six figures are more challenging.
