Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

It seems MB will follow the same strategy as BMW with its EV platform being the base for the ICE cars as well.

I believe that only the MMA platform will be "compromised", while the upcoming M-B.EA and AMG.EA electric toolkits will be "dedicated". Or has that now changed ?

MMA is an electric priority platform developed for compact cars. Gasoline engine can also be fitted. This engine (M252) is currently in joint development with Geely. There will be no diesel engine. The engine will act as a range extender. The gearbox will be supplied from magna. It will hit the market with CLA (aka EQC) at the end of 2024. It promises a range of 650-850 km. On this platform, 4 more models will be launched: A-class, A-class suv sedan, GLA and GLB.

As of 2025, MB.EA and AMG.EA platforms will be available for larger cars. These platforms are electric only. They do not contain an internal combustion engine.

The way BMW will follow is to have all the drive elements on one platform. diesel, petrol, hybrid and electric.

What’s this coming up??

Yep-as mentioned by a poster a bit earlier on, this now appears to be nothing more than some BS attempted attention-grabber that couldn't be more detached from possible serial production. My level of curiosity is rapidly diminishing. Unfortunately, something that is frequent when it comes to product promotion exercises by M-B and/or BMW. Nowadays, it's Porsche and Polestar that are presenting masterful promotion exercises.

Tobias Moers leaving Aston Martin.

Not a surprise really. Both Moers and Stroll being "Alpha Dogs", both allegedly having abrasive character traits, the break-up was inevitable, I reckon.

Somehow, I don't have a good feeling about the future of Aston Martin. Regardless of whether it concerns the road car division or the F1 unit. I suspect that both Bentley as well as the upcoming Lotus will "bury it", not to mention Ferrari and perhaps eventually Lamborghini.
