Don't know if this is a repost - I can't find a specific thread for the W212 E63 AMG...

The all-new 2010 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG is expected to make its world debut next month at the New York Auto Show but the performance saloon has already won a reader's choice award for best sports car run by Germany’s Sport Auto magazine. In honor of the decoration, Mercedes has released a teaser image for the new E63 that reveals its front-end design.

Clearly visible is a new bumper and alloy wheel design as well as some oversized cross-drilled brake discs.

Mercedes and its AMG engineers have been testing prototypes for the E-Class extensively – even recruiting former McLaren F1 ace Mika Häkkinen and race driver Klaus Ludwig to finetune it.

Despite current concerns about global warming and a possible end to the horsepower war between Germany’s in-house tuners, the new E63 will continue with the potent hand-built 6.2L V8, although the rest of the car’s mechanical package is expected to have been given a major makeover. Power has been bumped up to 525hp (392kW). Engineers will be focusing more on improve handling and chassis strength, borrowing a number of features from the new C63 AMG.

The sporty AMG model is also tipped to receive a widened front track and unique steering ratio compared to the regular E-Class as well as a MacPherson strut and multi-link active suspension.

While the new E63 saloon is expected to go on sale soon after its New York debut, the Estate wagon version of the car isn’t due to arrive in showrooms until sometime next year.

As a product from Mercedes-AMG, the new high-performance E 63 AMG develops 386 kW/525 hp.

haha audi rs is class below car, horse power is irrelevant when we talk about 500 + ps cars

Forget tht bullshit bout ending the horsepower war. That won´t happen. Mercedes has just made a few improvements in the current E 63 AMG engine, and after BMW launches its new M5, wich is set to debut in 2011, we will se the new E 55 AMG, that should have around 600 hp as some insiders sugest.

Oh yes come facelift time...expect 600hp at least. Might be a long 3 years though with everyone else pushing 550-580hp (Audi, Cadillac) and I'd bet the next M5 will have at least 550hp.

I am sure AMG has found a way to save weight where possible and fine-tune the transmission for even faster shifts - and this should ensure that the performance of the W212 E63 AMG should be up-to-date with that of the competition.

Looks nice!
The HP bump might be minimal to us but it`s going to be a good little jump
for the E63. Remember the E63 should get the new MCT from the SL63
with a better suspension setup.

It should be a blast to drive!

The current E63 average 0-60mph, 0-100mph are 4.3sec and 9.5sec.

I think we can scrub 0.3seconds off those times with these improvements, that is if the car hasn`t
gained more weight.

The performance will be bonkers, but the ride will still be quite comfortable. I'm just waiting for the new AMG looks. I love the direction the're going in.
