I did not know the S580e does not get AWD. That would be a deal breaker for me.

In Germany there is the choice of RWD (4000 Euros cheaper, 40kg lighter but 0.3sec slower to 100km/h) and AWD, maybe the UK they decided to go with RWD only, which is a strange decision

They are very much delayed with the launch of the S63, I wonder why its taking so long to launch. Curious to see if it will have the same 843PS powertrain as the GT 63E

The new GLC is coming June 1st I'm reading and EQS SUV is soon too I think so I don't see what the delay is here. I'm ready to see the next step with the AMG C-Class models too. I mean how long is this Frito-Lay thing going to go on?

The S500 looks like one of the best models in the S-class range. Good combination of performance, quietness/refinement from the inline 6 engine and also much better economy than the S580.

The S500 looks like one of the best models in the S-class range. Good combination of performance, quietness/refinement from the inline 6 engine and also much better economy than the S580.

That and the I6 diesel as well, though I am aware, that in many countries a diesel is a no-go.

The electric range and consumption from the petrol engine is excellent for a 2.4ton Plug In Hybrid.

Electric Range - 81 to 84km in winter conditions. Probably 100km or more in warmer conditions.
ICE consumption over 300km of driving with 120km of electric driving - 6.5l/100km - that is over 50% less than a S500 (10.2l/100km) in combined driving.
