S-Class (W223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.
The front looks like a vacuum cleaner on steroids.
And all these stars INSIDE the grill. Could this be true?
The headlights part , yes . I believe this dudes ( I bought some thing in the past from them )

As for the render , probably it will be full of stars . This is the trend....

I don't understand what is that upper part above the Distronic radar

Someone got their hands on the headlights , it seems

My concerns are largely allayed by this shot. There's a degree of refinement to the execution of the design elements missing in the renders. It should look Mercedes familiar, but fabulous.

Complaints that the front end of the W223 was too sporty and lacked presence should be put to rest with this FL. When its all unmasked, this will have gravitas in spades. The most presence an S has had since the W140.

I guess this’ll be the most comfortable car ever made.
I'm convinced, that Mercedes should roll E-ABC out to all their RWD cars as an option. Even the C-class.
"Won't that cannibalise the E and S class sales?" No, because the E and S class would be a step up in interior space, luxury and comfort.
But I think as a bare minimum, all Mercedes should have the option for the best possible ride quality.

They've tried optional Airmatic on the C-Class and discontinued it prematurely because the take rate was so low and the option was expensive. I highly doubt anything under the E-Class gets E-ABC as it is already a $6,500 option on the S-Class.

As an option, the W223 FL can be fitted with Magic Laser Control in the front grill. This innovative new feature is yet another developmental milestone for Mercedes integrative 'pre safe' vehicle system, allowing the driver to blast away any ugly 7 series that may be impeding progress. A further testament to the S classes unrivalled attention to occupant comfort and wellbeing.

This is true.

But part of the problem is, that Mercedes sales model back then was very volume and priced based. The factories were literally shipping thousands of cookie cutter specs for dealers to sell at massive discounts.

If they are going to limit volume growth and try to command the premiums they historically did, they need to revert back to a model that caters far more to the customer's requirements IMO. Even if E ABC is out of the question, other 'luxuries' such as airmatic, 4 zone climate control, rear blinds etc. shouldn't be.

This should include the ability to specify vehicles as the customer wants, which used to be the case with the Germans historically. This used to, and should, include suspension tunes specific to luxury or sport oriented customers.

That said, the suspension set up and ride comfort of an adaptively damped W206, far exceeds that of an airmatic W205. Mercedes has made impressive improvements in the ride refinement of C class based vehicles this generation and IMO the W214 and W223 are similarly accomplished, with notable improvements over their predecessors.

It will have reserves of confidence unlike anything else in this class.
Minimalism is definitely working its way out in the design department. The facelift, once the camo comes off, will be more "in your face."
The larger grill and more pronounced sport package seem gaudy and more of a showpiece compared to the tame elegance of the pre-facelift. The headlights and fenders from dead ahead already look like a male fashion model with chiseled facial features. Its a catchy treatment that will have more of an emotional impression compared to the pre-facelift.
