Haha, the artist,I like how you put words straight to the point when it comes to the S class.:)

I hope they keep the bars on the rear lights. It is a nice design feature which makes the S-class special. I hated them when they were introduced but now they are great!

Finally AMG is getting classy again, the front bumper is perfect. The rear confirms what some have said, chrome strips are a part of history now. I'm still worried that the LED circus light in the tail light clusters won't be enough to balance the soft and bulbocious looking rear end.

Looks like there is also a LED stripe at the front… :eek2: …Audi style?! :D

Nevertheless I like the rear and those all red rear lights!

Seriosly, the rear look cheap, I dont like it at all. I hope its only temporary cover tape.

And why did it take so long for MB to add LED lights to their cars. I guess its better late than never.

The rear does look cheap. Those backlights are very ugly in shape, even (or in particular?) without those body stripes. The thing the S class needed most is getting rid of those terrible wheel arches.

They still hardly add LEDs to the cars. Yesterday I drove at night behind a Q5, with beautiful full LED rearlights, and a minute later I was behind a GLK (overall a better looking car) but guess what...cheap old school backlights. Only the blinkers are LED.

Can u say BMW too?:D

Well u can say the same about X6/5;):D

Well MB was the first mainstream car that had LED tailights. They were first introduced on the W220 S class... Cadillac was not too far behind. Mb has been slow with the LED turn signals and from headlamps.

Well, I have LED lights in my low budget babybimmer for over a year. Even the light for my license plate is LED light. Not even C-class or CLC is having LED. If you want if for your Benz you have to buy expensive E or S-class. At least BMW have the option for all their models.

The rear only looks cheap on the S63/5

The exhausts look sooo weak! And they are too close to each other:t-banghea

I really hope on the E63 the exhausts are going to be the square like we have seen before:eusa_pray

Yeah!! Looks much better!! You can see the different also on the S 600!! The old ones (oval) don't look as good as the new one:

The 3 Series didn't have LED's until the facelift and neither does the 1. The 5 series only has turn signal LED's....

The C class has an option of turn signal LED's...

5er have LEDs in rearlights for the facelift.

But it doesnt change the fact, that BMW was ahead of MB with LED's in all models if it really matters for some ;) another fact is that it taken a long time for Benz to finally put LEDs on their cars, longer than BMW. ;)

Its quite funny I asked a simple question why it took so long time for Benz to put LED and suddenly a fanboy war started, another MB vs BMW discussion :D A sensitive question I guess ;)

^^ i don't understand it either. MB was first with brake lights in LEDs, then indicators in the mirrors... And then, nothing.

Also, funny thing is that it took MB very long to put clearglass headlamps all over the line-up.

I think they saw the safety benefit of the brake lights, but didn't care at all about night-design... it's a shame the W204 gets old-school lights bar the indicators...:t-hands:

Mercedes spending is still out of control, color coordinated tape?

M

^looks like LED´s to me:D

PS
The cars without xenon headlights have no LED´s in the rear lights...
Just like the C class

As far as I know, only the blinkers (and brake lights???). Definetely NOT the regular nighttime lights (imo the most important ones, because you will see those the most).

Can we please STOP the LED discussion here!! This is still a S-Class spyshot thread and no thread for discussing, which car has LEDs and when!!!

So back to the S-Class and it's LED lights. :D
