Even though it's not the best of things to happen, it's always useful to know when and why your vehicle is being called in by the manufacturer. The latest recall in the States concerns the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. According to the German automaker, due to a manufacturing process flaw from the supplier's side, the radial knuckle of the front strut may fail after significant mileage accumulation combined with exposure to high continuous stress by driving on rough roads. If the radial knuckle happens to fail, then the steering control of the vehicle may be affected. Merc said that the recall is expected to begin in December and that its dealers will replace any problematic front struts free of charge.

Are you kidding!? I pay $ 1,000,000 for an S-Class and then this crap happens? Next time I am going to buy a Lexus. They never break down and there is no such thing as a "Lexus Recall". It doesn't exist. FACT.

:D:D:D

LOL! Well thats hardly a breakdown :D Anyways, for real though, Lexus NEVER recalled?? :t-hands:

Only 1500 vehicles affected? I called my dealer, no recalls on my car.
:t-hands:

They should keep a tighter leash on suppliers..
anyways..not a huge recall..
so its all good..

Come on folks, no BMW vs MB wars again (keep that in Internal Combustion where it is warranted with facts ;)). Cars are complex machines and things can go wrong. Period. :t-cheers:

PS: The S-Class rocks! :D j/k :t-cheers:

The gearbox in BMW isn't developed by BMW either but let's no go there. All cars break down sooner or later. Period!

Well then i guess BMW should work a little harder and make their own gearboxes like MB:cool:;):D

Oh boy here we go.

M

Lets have some fun:D

DCT is also supplied by some supplier :). Ultimately the car companies are responsible for quality of what they put in their cars.

Well u can't compare the two recalls, this one is much simpler than M's recall:D,BMW should make their own gearboxes coz ultimately they are responsible for quality of what they put in their cars;):D

Flame down guys :D But seriously this recall really is the simplest of things and for very insignificant numbers as well. But like just_me said nothing man made is 100% 'perfect'
