Maybe you two and Klier should start a club.

Much simplier, yeah right, its just plug'n play to a computer and letting the computer do the work and the softwareproblem is fixed. How difficult is that.

Remember, just becuse you dont hear about recalls very often , doesn't mean the cars aren't breaking down. Carmakers aren't exacly willing to talk about it when a car are having problems, they rather work in silence.

I disagree, you wont be hearing everything from mags either.

The gearbox in BMW isn't developed by BMW either but let's no go there. All cars break down sooner or later. Period!

All I know is that Gertrag develop the DCT gearbox in M3.

Audi's gearboxes are developed by BorgWarner

All Mercedes 5 and 7-speed gearboxes are made in house. The 7-Speed MCT in SL63 AMG uses a ZF/Sachs wet clutch in conjunction with the usual 7G-Tronic hardware. The only transmissions Mercedes outsourses as far as I know is the SMG-style gearbox in the Smart and possibly the CVT in the A/B.

BMW outsourses all of theirs ZF, Getrag etc.
