Mercedes-Benz E-Class W211 facelift. Spy pic thread. -

Please continue the discussion here, and post your new spy-pics in this thread, thanks.

I personally hope for an Audi B6/BMW E46 type facelift, and not a Mercedes W220/BMW E39 type facelift!

I am having a hard time finding good shots of the facelift, strange.

err, klier, what's wrong with E39's facelift?? Imo, there was no better facelift EVER!!! At least as far as BMW is concerned.... Not even to mention E65's facelift...

:t-cheers:

Some info on the facelifted E:
http://automobilemag.com/news/0509_mercedes_benz_e_class/

They mention the possiblity of new bumpers, headlights, grille, and possibly even fenders and doors as well as some S-class interior features.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great facelift.
I meant that they didn't really change the overall car, like the E46 :t-cheers:

Waiting for the W212, looks like somewhat of a throwback to the W214 in a way from the Autobild renderings w/ all of the squarish features, i.e. tail lamps, headlights and so on. It's crucial the MB hit the mark w/ quality on this car,and w/ Dieter Zetsche at the helm, I know they will. Hopefully they'll switch the lettering and numbers around and do another 500 E and sign a contract w/ Porsche to build the car. :usa7uh: - That was wishful thinking, I'm sure AMG will do a fine job w/ the new 6.3 high rev V8 - can't wait! :usa7uh:

i dont know, looks pretty similar, cant be a major change i guess....

I think its gonna get a new grill, front bumper, bonnet, rear lights and perhaps trunk.

I love those wheels. I wonder what they would look like on the new S. They are an option and are 19inch for the S.

all its gonna get is a new kit and a bigger gril ... I guess

E-class sales appear to be strengthening once again, following the huge onslaught by competitors. This facelift, if its thorough enough, should solidify its position a bit until the new generation arrives.

Let's just hope they actually do something. I think it's about time now!

I guess that the tape covers enough areas for me to be hopeful that the facelift will freshen enough without being alienating. I agree that they need to do -something- though!

The grill looks more defined, it looks that from now on the grill will become an even more prominent feature on all new MB cars, the grill is a strong emphasis in the design, and now even more attention will be given to it, especially considering that Audi's new radiator grills are louder than all current MB's.

I second that the wheels look very sharp indeed. :usa7uh:

Looks like the classic MB facelift, a few minor cosmetic exterior changes. The previous E got a much more comprehensive facelift, even a new hood. This time though that isnt' needed. The ride/handling question, interior quality and reliability are the things Mercedes to address. These pics show the sport package that we in the U.S. can't get for some reason. We get the 5K AMG package which looks good, but does very little to actually make the E any sportier. They're going to have to do something to the suspension of the E500 going from 302hp to 382 hp. A car with that much power deserves a kick-ass sport package able to take it right to the 550i and Infiniti M45 Sport, for those who want a Benz capable of doing so.
