Mercedes-Benz E-Class Owners Photo Gallery Thread

The engine of the E 280 CDI is really calm. After a cold start you can hear that it is a diesel and also in neutral you can notice the diesel sound! When you take off, it is extremely difficult to make out if this is a diesel or petrol-driven car! :D

Today my dad drove to Brunswick (a city here in lower saxony). The autobahn is limited to 120km/h. The on-board computer said: 7,6 litre / 100 km. I think this isn't really a bad fuel consumption. :usa7uh: The best fuel consumption I reached was 6,8 litres / 100 km - but this wasn't really fun to drive. :t-drive:

We never reset the on-board computer complete. For the 40.000km with an average speed of 85km/h the "computer" gives a fuel consumption of 9,4 litres.
Most of the time we drive on the autobahn - and if the road circumstances permit we drive the car fast. I think this is the reason, why the fuel consumption is a bit enhanced.

The 6-speed-manual is (for a Mercedes Benz) extremely good to handle - only the second gear don't want to engage sometimes. Nevertheless the manual gearbox isn't comparable to the SLK 320 we had before. :jpshakehe (Sadly, we sold this car) Also the combination with the diesel isn't that favourable, because you have to change the gear at 4000 rpm. ;)

The chassis is sporty but also very comfortable. (780 km without any problems! I drove the same distance with the SLK and I really have to say that I was a a nervous wreck after that. :) )
Especially with the 18' summer tyres the road holding is very good - most notably at higher speed this gives you a feeling of security. :usa7uh:

edit: Model Year: We bought the car in December 2005! So this is the last series before the facelift! :eusa_danc

The best fuel economy we ever got with the E320 was a stunning 7.0 L / 100 km (33.5 mpg) when my mom drove the car from Mühldorf to Salzburg.

Both my father and I are tied for the best fuel economy for the men in our family with 7.7 L / 100 km. Not bad at all for a gasoline-powered 1.7-ton E320.

My father has some problems with the manual gearbox. He often drives the car at higher rpm's (especially in the city), because he is used to hear the engine while driving. :D Very difficult for a car that engine nearly makes no noise!

This could also be the reason, why the fuel consumption is that "enhanced"!

Ree, your dad sounds cool.

My dad is all about grandpa style driving. :t-banghea

Here's a picture I took a few years ago of our interior. The lighting conditions made for an interesting color. :eusa_thin

I really like this shimmer of green and blue in your picture! :usa7uh:

And, I forgot it my last post, 7.0 litre for an E 320 is just amazing!!! :eek2:

7.0L/100km is really amazing. My one is averaging 14.6L/100km overall, the average speed is around 31km/h. the car is used for city driving most of the time.

My dad doesn't even drive at all, so my mum do most of the driving, and i get to drive it sometime. I drive my Subaru for most of the time. I am amazed by at amount of people and espically girls who are impressed by our E class even though there are plenty of them on the road.

Good to hear. :usa7uh:

Terrible fuel economy. But on the other hand, that's not so bad considering this is city driving.
:t-cheers:

Nice. I just love the current E, almost as much as I did the W124 E from back in the day.

some new shots of our E-Class...

Very nice photos, your E-class looks beautiful, really love those sportspack wheels, wish i can get a set of those as well. Your black car looks very clean, nice and shiny.

Thank you for the nice comment! I'm happy, that I don't take any detailed shot of the car - the front is littered with insects... :D

Is this an innuendo that our car is dirty...?! :usa7uh:
Nevertheless, great picture...I really like the pre-facelifted E-Class... :eusa_danc

:D na your city is fine. I prefer to call our E-class the "original version" and the best, i saw a few facelift ones today, they do look sharp, but it doesn't look as elegent as our version.

Have to wash our car cause it has been in the rain

Guys you all have some great cars!

PS. So, how many E-Class owners do we have here?

Thank mate, there are definitely more than 3 of us, someone else owns a E280, but he hasn't post the photos yet, i think there are 3 or 4 more E-class owners here, so that makes the E class the most popular car in GCF

Hey guys, I just found this thread. Thank you for all the nice pics, the W211 E-Class is definitely my favorite car of the segment.

We've had our W210 E430 4-Matic since it was new. Its a 2001 model I think....white with gray interior. Kind of boring inside compared to the W211, and doesn't have the same appeal as my old W124.

Nevertheless, its performed admirably in all weather conditions, we definitely used the 4-Matic alot during the winters here. All that power and comfort makes for a fun drive on the highways :usa7uh:

We might be looking at the E350 4-Matic Wagon within the year, depends on a couple things, I can only hope and pray though.
