This is a pretty famous Mercedes V8 engine, the M117. It powered cars like the W126 500SE (SEL) and R107 500SL. In 5.6-l bored out form, it could be found in the 560SL (USA only) and 560SE (SEL) or 560SEC Coupes.

Thanks for the photos mate, i just realised the SLR looks dam sexy, espically the black one. The Alabaster White E200 looks better than expected.

Is it allowed to bring personal pets inside the dealership?

Nice pics, its seems white is making a come back, perhaps MB are tired of Silver.

I hope that suspended SLR falls on all the crackerjacks claiming Lewis Hamilton is better than Schumacher or Senna or anyone else after four races. Hmm . . . I wonder if Jackie Stewart will ever visit that dealership.

Seriously, great pictures. Does that dealership put any of the Mercedes-Benz Guard cars on display? I have seen pictures of one or two in showrooms.

Thanks. :)

Most German manufacturers are trying to bring back white as a popular color. Currently a white luxury car is hard to sell on the used car market and owners could expect a 3,000 Euro loss from the price they're selling the car at simply because it is white.

I am sure the Guard vehicles are showcased in the Maybach Center. I once saw a black W220 S-Class in there (in the corner) and I assumed it was a "special S-Class", probably a Guard model. :eusa_thin
