S-Class (W223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.
Hopefully with W224, W215 and W207 they finally bin off the screen spam.
Maybe the next tech which would also take away the screens on the dash could be Augment Reality Windscreens. This could allow the interior designers to focus more on giving the dashboards that old world luxury look but keeping the high tech on the windscreen.

No thank you. Very distracting and dangerous especially for someone with bad eye sight/ reading glasses

The rear lights look fantastic, I must say. The shape is much sleeker and more... aggressive? Not sure that's the right word, but they look better shape wise than the pre-FL

They smoothed out the kink in the rear lights.
Fantastic. It's always been wrong to have these pointy things on this car.

This new design is going to be so much better.

I don't think aggressive is the right word, it's more like royal/upmarket. It's lost all connections to the A class finally, which IMO is the more aggressive design between the two.

So, based on these latest pics, we can say some of the more controversial elements of the W223 will be gone: triangular rear lights, vertical center screen, piano black panels and, sadly, pointy front lights.

Taking into consideration MB design has not moved forward much lately and that the whole industry is relying on more significant facelifts to extend the life of ICE cars, this car will work until the W224 comes (2030?).

Will this be enough to stop people from buying large SUVs instead? I could see a point in time when both MB and BMW simply stop producing large sedans, if the SUV trend continues.

The new S-Class is coming January 29th 2026

Historically speaking , the FL was always a better look. Let's hope for the best

If they get the interior rightly fixed with good materials and not those long piano black BLACK PLASTIC panels, this thing will sell like hotcakes
Fixed it for you

The GLS and X7 are no competition to the S/7er in terms of quality, comfort, driving characteristics, etc.
Oh no, but that’s because they are larger versions of the X5 and GLE, which are the SUV version of the 5er and E-Class.

But my point was not that an MB customer was going to stop buying an S-Class for a GLS, but rather for a RR or something along those lines.
