Obviously, the production version will be toned down, which will sand off any decent edge this thing has now. It looks swollen. I was shocked to see how many of the X6 BMW had sold. Honestly have a hard time believing because you rarely see one on the road around here. Plenty of X5s.

Headlight shape is as dull as one can imagine. Will all the roundedness and then the very narrow and sharp taillamps, they don't do anything for the car.

Yes since its introduction in Spring 2008 the X6 has sold over 250,000 units.
Initial projections suggested at this time as we approach the imminent eve of the replacement F16 model.
That total sales would be around half of the initial target. Because of the timing and being the second largest market for the X6 - a preview concept will premiere in Moscow in August.

Now that we have seen the idea behind the Sport Utility Coupe at Mercedes-Benz. It leaves total confusion to Audi's position especially with a Q4 and now the TT all road in practically the same segment along with the Q3.

If you want a coupeish SUV this is how it will look like. I see nothing wrong with it in terms of design, yes it looks weird (just like the X6) but that's what the market wants.

Some comments by Robert Lesnik. :)

Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV: Headed Straight for Production

It stands out with an aggressive front end, a fastback silhouette, horizontal taillights that stretch across the entire vehicle, and massive 22-inch wheels on relatively tall 305/45 tires. "The look of the wheel-tire-combination is not about the wheels, it is about the diameter of the tires," says designer Robert Lesnik. "Mercedes has invented the four-door coupe, and we wanted to carry the theme forward," he adds, pointing out the similarities between the new concept and the CLS Shooting Brake. Like the CLS, the concept features frameless windows; show-car specific elements include the recessed door handles. It stands 68.5 inches tall, and is 194.3 inches long and 80.5 inches wide. There is plenty of room inside, and the huge panoramic roof lends an airy feel to the interior. Source: Car & Driver

Mercedes ought to be careful about using the same headlight shape of the A-Class and CLA on every car. It's pretty clear that they aped the body shape of the perfectly designed X6, but have failed to innovate in any way.

Q3.

Concept X6? Guess BMW likes to hear how much better the concept looked when the production car launches shortly after that...weird fetish indeed ;)

My thoughts exactly.
