CLS-Class (C218) Mercedes-Benz CLS (C218) Picture Thread

The C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS is the second generation of the Mercedes CLS-Class range of four-door coupé sedans. It is succeeded by the CLS (C257). Body styles: C218 (4-door coupé), X218 (5-door shooting brake). Production: January 2011 – December 2017

That white one just made me poo my pants a little. Wow.

That contrasting and non harmonious character lines still looks awful to me though. Like a big scar down the face of a supermodel.

Can't wait to get some dealer time with this car.

Hate to be the naysayer, but I don't like it. The front LED treatment reminds me of the HSV treatment for the Commodore in Australia. It's just too busy in my own opinion. The previous generation was an instant classic because of the new genre it created and the way it oozed class without being over the top. The rear lights scream Mazda. The front lights are unresolved. The side wheel arch is to prominent and detracts from the coupe-eske appearance of the car.

The rear AMG bumper is fantastic. In all, I dislike the amalgamation of a torrid affair of lines, creases and prominences that encompass the design of this car. It just does nothing for me. That is my honest opinion.

I agree about the car. I have such a love/hate relationship with it, it's not even funny. It's like I find it remarkably stunning and extremely flawed and hard to look at, at the same time.

I'm still going to enjoy having it as part of the M-B fam surely, regardless of how much it appeals to me in terms of splurging my own cash on it (if that came to question).

Perfect angle for that car IMO, as you really get to witness the downward character line from the most appropriate view.

Is that Matte White or Diamond White? Those are the best pics of the new CLS I've seen yet, just some stunning qualities come through from the car.

Looks like White is the color for this car, just like I think it is for the 212. If I ever did get a new CLS, looks like I'd stick with the same color theme. :D

Beautiful in White, but the only problem is if you drive it hard you will have the attention over every law enforcement official in sight.

I don't know...white shouldn't be as bad as red. A Red CLS you would really have to watch out. I think I would probably get it in Silver or Black.

IN AUS Black always attracts the police. The CLS in black will be amazing! Cant wait to see some photo's in black!

The photographers that Mercedes-Benz USA have contracted for the CLS photoshoots deserve medals of highest commendation !

First, those photographs of the red and grey CLS' on the roads in and around L.A. Now this white one.

Simply gorgeous ! This CLS sceptic is turning into a believer !!

I think those pictures in white should answer that question for you. :D

BTW, if you're keeping your E-Class, please post side by side pics! I'd love to see the two together.

I can not decide between Designo Alubeam titanium or Obsidian Black? Please help! Need to see images of these two to help!:t-banghea

It's the oddest thing really:

The gorgeous (yes, I am now convinced ;)) new CLS has me appreciating the W212 E-Class far more than had previously been the case.

The characters of these automobiles appear to be so vastly different from one another that they ideally compliment one another. The exceedingly dramatic and flamboyant CLS versus the rather conservative and traditional E-Class sedan. The differences here are far more pronounced than those of, for example, the Audi A7 and the new A6. And I suspect that the same sort of proximity will apply to the upcoming BMW 6-series Gran Coupe and the 5 series sedan. The Audi and predictably BMW pairings simply appear far more derivative.

Clever blokes, those M-B fellows.

I agree. I feel like M-B had the confidence to make a true, proud and stately SEDAN, since they had the CLS covering the other base. Where they are similar is how sculpted, artistic and intricate the sheetmetal details are. I assume these two will look heavily related, but much different in overall character in person. One thing neither lack is personality and CHARISMA!!

Black is always hot on any benz.
But white is the way to go with this car..to show off its curves ;)

Or if your KA go all black cause he hates the lines..haha:D
