CLS-Class (C218) Mercedes-Benz CLS (C218) Picture Thread

The C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS is the second generation of the Mercedes CLS-Class range of four-door coupé sedans. It is succeeded by the CLS (C257). Body styles: C218 (4-door coupé), X218 (5-door shooting brake). Production: January 2011 – December 2017
just like last generation, put an E rear on a CLS front and you have a winner

The new CLS is a winner as is in my view, beautiful car, at least judging by photo's we have seen!

Have you seen one in the metal Sayyaaf? That will be where the rubber meets the road. I checked out the new 5 and E yesterday IRL and I wasn't blown away by either. I am hoping that the CLS is a different story.

As an aside, on a recent business trip to Asia, I traveled to and from airports and appointments in a Lexus LS, new BMW 750iL and an MB S class 550 and the Mercedes had the best ride by far. Rock solid with a great balance between comfort and handling. The Lexus was too soft and the suspension was twitchy front to rear and I thought the BMW was too stiff. Maybe it's just me getting older and time now to move away from BMW. :t-hands:

In keeping with the E and CLS next to each other, here's a Screen Shot from the new M-B Commercial:

Fatastic shot. I wish we had it in hi-res.

I agree! What a stunning pairing those two make.

Yeah, that's the best I could do with Mac's Screen Shot. If you view it in its highest viewing rate on the Youtube Commercial, it's a perfectly High Res picture when you pause it, but the picture obviously drops the quality a bit. I'd love to have some other angles too, maybe M-B will released a "behind the scenes photo session". :D

Our dealer had a very wise decesion this year to release only CLS63 :D, so no not yet, I haven't seen it IRL.

I agree about the ride quality in S compared to 7er, I was impressed by the S and not so by the 7er.

it is the Designo Alubeam Titanium. Don't get to excited the cost in the UK is 10 THOUSAND POUNDS+ tax! I wanted to get that color when I placed my order and the dealer told me it would come in at least $15,000 AUD!

Holy crap! Too bad, it looks great in the photo. What color did you order, palladium?

I really love the rear of the new CLS, in pics at least (can't wait to see it in person). Funny that I really hate the rear of the original CLS, but this one is so on the money, just except for how harshly the chrome strip ends at the trunks edges.

Ug, US version doesn't have covered cupholders??? I'm sure the E will be getting the same treatment soon as well. I'm sure cupholders got a low score on the JD Power questionaires so they changed them.

Holy hell, that is the ugliest and worst placement of amber side markers I've ever seen! They should have just used the pieces from the E-Class, much much nicer.
