CLC-Class (CL203) Mercedes-Benz CLC Thread

Mercedes-Benz introduced the C-Class Sport-Coupé (codenamed "Peanut" ver. CL203) in October 2000 as a three-door hatchback coupé, based on the regular W203 C-Class. The SportCoupé was spun off into its own separate line called the CLC-Class in 2008. It is succeeded by the C-Class (C204). Production: 2008-2011.
I almost forgot about that car, well i do think that MB is gonna milk that CLC to the max.

I have 05 facelifted evolution sport package obsidian black SC.
I like my car. inside design is great and MB continued the same design. bur new rear stop warning lights are too long and seems ugly. my car MADE IN GERMANY ! new clc is made in brazil. this must be decrease price and the car % 10 in the beginning !
could I buy new clc in the future again ? Thanks ! one more is enough . next one , I hope, will be Saloon / Sedan C

Just in! According to Autobild the entry-level CLC will be the CLC160 (122-horsepower). ;)

Good move, because there will be those who want this car but don't need monstrous power.

The old CL203 C160 Sportcoupe got good reviews too. The power is decent and the car isn't slow by any means. Plus the new CLC will definitely come with more standard features so the CLC160 (or any model for that matter) will probably be a very appealing package for some people.

we changed 1100 parts of car but we didn't change the CAR !

Auto Motor und Sport had a pretty positive introduction about it in this months issue. Sadly I don't have time to scan it since I'll be leaving for Austria is a few hours and will stay there all day. Thank God for Ree! :D

NEWSFLASH!

According to this month's AMS, insiders at Mercedes have told AMS that the CLC is only a stop-gap measure to fill a market niche. Mercedes is apparently working on an A-Class and B-Class Sportcoupe. Once these arrive the CLC will be taken off the market. This explains why the CLC was created using minimal financial investments.

:t-cheers:

Very interesting.

They would be based on the next A and B-Class, right, those without sandwich concept...
Quite a clever move then. Because the CLC is quite actual, not really outfashioned by the competition, and when it will begin to get old, the replacement will come..

why would you ever admit a car is a "stopgap."

that's not exactly sending it to market with a lot of confidence.

This would be a good car to wait on, because there will be lots of dealer incentives after inventory starts sitting for a while.

Mercedes stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

Buyers won't know that this is a stopgap, only us here. The average consumer is so clueless about things like this that it simply doesn't matter. Mercedes would have to put an official press release saying "stopgap" or a commerical before the mesg would even take hold. Its matterless.

The other day I saw a "pre-facelifted" CLC with more or less the same interior seen in the official shots, and to behonest it looks surprisingly fresh and real life and doesn#t look dated at all.
