Probably not, MB fans have their priorities in bling bling and faux materials in the cabin. The engine doesn't matter, nor the way it drives or how fat it weighs.
As far as most of us concerned here both cars have positives and negatives and if the engine doesn't matter why is the current C63 engine got more character and better sound than the M3/M4 engine as per most mags, most people that have seen these cars in real life and also what we have all heard on this forum? The car officially is 80kg heavier than the M3 but we cannot call it "fat" until it gets measured by the press/motoring mags. The current C63 is a hoot to drive and i am sure this new version is better and will give the M3/M4 a close run! It will be a great match up when the cars will face each other in the mag comparisons!!

It's most probably Artist. He has created multiple profiles since he was banned, including the profile @Germany10 , the very person who was making homophobic slurs the other day in a discussion with @Sunny . Artist has a history of making homophobic posts.

Your little mind is only good to bull shit . As far as i know, Artist lives 9000 miles away from me . And it seems you have a "fixation" with me. If you know how to read, go back to the thread and find that was W 124 whom said something about "gross" refering the Sunny comment , and I just pointed to him that he should know the meaning of that word cause he is from SF...... ,not Greenland , Period . This all homophobic thing is off your wako.:wtf: Now back to the carssssss for good .

Anywayz, Germany10 / Section80 with an account created the same day.
This poll been destroyed by a person with multiply accounts. So its not a legit poll anymore. So sad to see the world with full of idiots.

Yeah, because this poll was so "legit" without the person with "multiply" accounts.

No of course not but something is going on. The mod team is aware of the situation.
Hopefully they find a solution soon with this person with several accounts. So its not like Im making this up.

Maybe the mods should filter out all the people that have new accounts and who voted and disqualify their votes only allowing the regular users with more than 20 posts votes to count as legit.

Its usually much closer looks wise, but this time around the BMW is a much better looking car.

Come to think of it, it is actually a lot like E46 M3 vs C32/55 as far as looks go - E46 M3 looked aggressive vs the almost plain jain AMG C of that era and I guess even the difference in the engine formula is similar in the case of C55.

Agreed, but back then one could view the M3 engine as being more sophisticated with its DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, double VANOS, multi throttle-body, high-revving, high specific output engine. By comparison the Mercs' SOHC, 3 valve, big capacity units could be appreciably assessed as "old school" tech.

This is no longer the case - the M3 engine (whilst remaining technically meritorious) does not seem to exhibit any hallmark technological differentiation over the Mercedes AMG unit. The playing field is more level now than ever. So, I look forward to those head-to-head tests to see what differentiators - beyond raw numbers - emerge.

^ but MB can't do sporty cars. They can do fast only. And comfortable of course, with nice metal buttons.

Like @Merc1 keeps moaning about in the official F10 5er thread these last days; MB has more experience with safety so their cars are safer. Well, it works the other way around too. BMW has much more experience with sporty coupes/sedans.
But I guess this will be spinned around again as usual.

I see what you're trying to do there, klier... it will just backfire.

Unfortunately, Mercedes AMG has a sporting car ensemble that BMW can't match at the moment. Where's BMW's competitor to the AMG GT - and before then SLS - sporting cars?

Interesting to note that the C63 has a more sophisticated front suspension set up. Watch this space for the "C63 has better steering feel" reviews. Again.

If MB can't do sporting cars why have so many magazines rated the E63 AMG ahead of the BMW M5 for driving thrills? It has the more characterful engine and more playful chassis and this is coming from a base car that so always considered the most comfort orientated car in its class. The previous generation M cars were always the best cars in their classes for driving thrills (except maybe Z3 M and M coupes) but the playing field from Mercedes and even Audi has already caught up with the masters of Munich, it is a much even round of players this time.

I wasn't going that deep and stopping at I6 vs V8 :). But I agree, the turbo era has definitely homogenized much of the engine technology. I can see every one sliding towards standard few formulas - 2L I4T, 3L I6/V6TT, 4L V8TT with hot side inside, and 6L V12 TT. Plugin a electric motor too.

Klier is being facetious about another argument in another thread. I doubt he is being serious, but then again it is Klier :).

Yes, agreeing with you on the engine side entirely. Just wanted to put forward my observation of the way things are now.

As for klier, I got his intention but there are a number of real examples which diminish the ability to reduce the discussion to purely subjective levels.

So why would it backfire if it's purely subjective?
I can handle a couple of old and dislike ratings, particularly when they come from Merc1 or Betty Swollocks.

Can't wait for the comparisons though. I have no doubt BMW will once again come out on top......again......so watch this space!

At the moment? BMW has never had a super car like that, and for the rest nothing has changed. BMW's sporting car ensemble is bigger than ever. M135, M235, M3, M4, M5, M6 and soon new X M cars and an M2.

I suppose the i8 is currently as close to a bespoke. fresh from the ground up sporting car as it gets.
