Hot! McLaren: What's Next

Nice. A 765 successor but based on the 750s.

I wonder what’s next for McLaren after the 750. Make the successor hybrid or stick to V8TT? It will also need a complete redesign.

TT V8 hybrid is next. I believe McLaren is going to target the 849 / Revuelto in terms of market position. Think 1000 HP, 1500 KG wet. Should be nuts.
From the information I have, the 750s successor will be a V8 hybrid 'light hybrid' with 900 hp, and another model is said to be a grand tour super GT with a V8 hybrid and 'good' EV range in the €500k. This model is said to have over 1000 hp. This new 'super GT' will certainly rival the 849 Testarossa. Also, the hybrid SUV will cost around €250k and is said to be "light". I will have more information by the end of the year.

A very exciting period is approaching for McLaren.

Any news regarding McLaren v6 TT?

The McLaren SUV is coming in 2028 and is expected to have an estimated starting price of $300,000. That's more expensive than the Lamborghini Urus but cheaper than the Ferrari Prosangue.

What I’ve heard about the McLaren SUV is not good. As there was quite some involvement by fourseven (with the usual arrogant and top down decision making especially when it comes to design) apparently it is anything but a true McLaren… do we really need another 400k+ SUV that isn’t authentically in line with the brand?

Also got a few very critical comments about Leiters. They were happy he was let go. Even though publicly that’s not how it’s being communicated exactly.

A regular poster on Mclarenlife forum seems to have a more positive opinion on it;

“So now that the cats officially out of the bag and they announced they are coming out with the SUV and other cars, I can share some info that i've know about for close to two years now.

Mclaren called me about two years ago and wanted my input on the upcoming SUV they were going to make. I gave my opinion on what would make a great Mclaren SUV. Light, V8 at minimum, reliable, and if possible the first carbon monocoque SUV the world has seen. The new SUV Is going to be really really really cool, it has a clean Mclaren look to it, but still muscular looking. Much better looking that the Urus or DBX.

In regards to the 788HS, Mclaren had decided to move forward with the car back in 2023. There was a group of 765LT owners (also ultimate series owners) that were very against Mclaren making the car. I was neutral on Mclaren making the 788HS. On one hand, it was going to hurt 765LT owners and values. Even though they are making less of the 788HS than the 765LT, it undoubtedly will hurt 765LT values, as the 765 will no longer go down as the last hardcore 7 series. BUT on the other hand, I was super excited to see what the 788HS would become and excited for its performance. Mclaren knocked it out of the park with the 750 updates mainly the gen 3 suspension and build quality of the car. So the 788HS is going to be bonkers, that all I will say haha.

There are some other cars that Mclaren is coming out with that I won't discuss at the moment, but the future looks very bright for the brand!!

Also no Artura LT.

Class dismissed.”

Frankly, I'm most curious about the SUV because it will be a model that will generate a very significant revenue for McLaren. This will allow McLaren to easily finance other exotic models as well. I'd like to remind you that the Cayenne saved Porsche from bankruptcy.
