Because it looses in the poll it's not a "proper BMW design" anymore? :D

It says why IMO it's not a proper BMW design: lacking real Hofmeister kink.

"Hofmeister kink" on X3 is definitely the worse interpretation of H's kink EVER! Since is not even a kink ...

GLK for me. I've said it all before in the official GLK threads so I'm not going to belabour my appreciation for this fabulous take on the modern SUV theme.

Q5 - jeez... so damn Audi generic. You know, I'm all for this cohesive brand identity across the range for Audi but the Q7 and Q5 are just unimaginative re-interpretations of a design theme suited solely to low-slung road cars. The current design language doesn't transition well to an SUV concept in my opinion. It looks like someone took an A4 Avant, squashed it lengthways, gave it some ride height and a raised driving position. Look Audi, we know you're an honest bunch and really all this is is a soft-roader; but c'mon - did you really have to over emphasize soft?

BMW are welcome to the SAV segment - it's all theirs and only theirs... the rest of the sensible population will stick to SUV's.

In many respects the Japanese compact SUV's represent far better value than their overpriced German competitors. Yannis' X-Trail is a very sensible buy and a strong competitor in the value proposition stakes. Sure enough, I'd have preferred it if he'd bought a 2009 Forester XT (which has been doing surprisingly well in pre-launch SUV buyer surveys over here!) :D ;) but the Nissan remains a sound choice.

Sorry Martin but when i bought the X-trail (it's my wife's actually , i still have the old trustworthy B6 A4) , the Forester was still the previous model. Also Subaru here in Greece is a relatively niche brand with small dealer network and not good enough after sale service.:D

lol, who voted for the X3? Must be the typical blind BMW fanboys.

Α lot of BMW fans voted for GLK. I know who they are but i won't reveal names cause i don't want to spoil their rep.:D

I would still take X3 over GLK. The last one is too old fashioned for my taste.

^ Just because the GLK is boxy looking doesn't mean that it's old fashioned. I see a thoroughly modern SUV right there...

This is a public poll and by clicking on the number of votes, members and those curious can easily see who voted for X3, so noone's rep is in question.

Blind fanboys? Gee...

Believe it or not there are those that actually prefer it over others, what's wrong with that? Not everyone think it's ugly!! (I do btw.)

Also, those that voted... Yannis, you be the judge if those are such BMW fans...;) I see more BMW fans voted for Q5 than for X3.
