It is to be built in the city of Dorsten, Germany starting in 2009. Of course they may go under till then.

It is a very light car (450kg), powered by mid engined small diesels (20 and 50hp) driving the rear wheels , so fuel economy is superb. In order to assure crash safety in such a light vehicle the Loremo has no side doors. According to their web site entering the Loremo is as easy as "entering a bath tub."

What I don't like about light cars is that when they get T-boned, you're gonna get a whole lot more damage than when it is a heavy car.

I like thinking behind this car, but I find the design to be early 90's concept car style.

1 question, how are they ever going to manage to pass any frontal crash test? Can you still open the front section and excape after a crash? Are the front hinges strong enought to prevent the entire front section from crushing into the rest of the car after a crash?

No idea. I have not looked at their website yet, but apparently they're working on making this car very safe. Also, there are not many big cars in European cities like there are in America, so this thing will be just fine. :usa7uh:
