Look what I found in a barn...

Which E320i? The E30? I would also have gone down the restomod route but being a bit more biased to keeping the car as original as possible. Will the cars be stored in a garage with space that you won't miss over the next 2-3 years?

The E21, based on the same engine as my cars.

Everything changed will be reversible.

The drivetrain (box, shaft, and rear axle) is interchangable. No need to worry, the car can be turned into original in about an afternoon.

I have space for the two of them over an indefinite time in a fully equipped garage. All I really need to do is get this:

Just confirmed that the block was replaced by the firm Motor Nord in 1987 (at the resonable cost of SEK 20,500).

Anyone know of any temporary Recaros?

On my part, I'm thinking original body and probably uprated gearbox (5-speed from the 320i), LSD, and suspension - with all the original parts kept on a shelf in restored condition.

Its bugs me when I see a relatively uncommon car thats been modified and the original parts aren't kept with the car. Really glad to hear you're doing that.

Well, that would mostly be on the account of me not being a total dimwit... I want to enjoy the car, not ruin it.

Yes, almost! Imagine how much easier work on the body will be!

Right now im pondering Taiga Green or plain white for this car...

blueeeeeeeeeeeee. White or green is too history teacher :p kidding aside. Whatever float your boat :)
