I don't think there was a thread like this in the Lexus section.

Lexus TZ
This today launch completely flew under the radar; I don't know if I'm just missing it or if nobody else is.
300 miles of range is embarrassing at this level and in this day and age, but oh well, design included, totally unremarkable in my opinion.

When Lexus announces a GX500d - then I'll start taking notice of them again. For the rest of the (non-TNGA) line-up, the brand is all but dead for me.

It comes with the V10 LFA sound available, that's like prostituting things

Finally a slight change for Lexus design language. The exterior surfacing is interesting in a positive way and I like that the cabin doesn’t look like a Toyota with a different badge.

The exterior design is certainly challenging for these 50 year old eyes, but the positive thing is it looks different to anything else on the road and from the front is recognizable as a Lexus, although I think the new models are not as good looking as the previous design language. Those Nike swish headlights and the large grill gave it loads of character but now its got too much body colour in the flat face grill. The doors and body work have some interesting surfacing. I dont like the rear design it looks too much like its influenced by Chinese cars with its thin full width light band. The interior at last for a Lexus looks really good with some interesting looking disappearing switches on the dash and the screen looks finally to have a decent interface and graphics.

I really like this one. Inside and out.

A very pleasing alternative to the mainstream overdone German large SUV‘s.

Toyota has canceled development of its next-generation EV, which was scheduled for release in mid-2027... However, it will continue developing advanced technologies such as solid-state batteries.
Yomiuri

Toyota Motor Corporation has announced it will discontinue development of its next-generation electric vehicle (EV), which was scheduled for release in mid-2027. This decision is believed to be due to a slowdown in global demand for EVs. However, the company will continue developing advanced technologies for the next-generation EV, such as all-solid-state batteries and "Gigacast," a process for integrally molding aluminum parts.

The project being discontinued is the Lexus LF-ZC, a luxury car brand. Toyota unveiled a prototype of the LF-ZC at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023, marking its world premiere. At the time, the typical range of an EV was around 500 kilometers, but the LF-ZC aimed for a range of around 1,000 kilometers, attracting considerable attention.

The LF-ZC was initially scheduled for release in 2026, but in 2024 it was revealed that the start of production would be postponed to mid-2027.

The technologies being developed are expected to be used in a variety of vehicles, including electric vehicles, to meet market needs.

Isn't next Lexus IS supposed to be full EV? Will we get next generation IS with IC engine? Or no more IS?

Kirk's take on this

By doing this I think Toyota is not focusing on making more sales in China and giving up on their market. They putting all their eggs only on Europe and US and other 3rd world markets where EV´s are not yet a priority.
