Personally I would never buy a 911 cab since I think that the coupe is better looking and that it would feel so wrong to own a 911 cab. With the roof cut off the car loses some of it's 911-ness.

Good thought, I agree. It reminds me of the VW Bug in cab form, that aside.

Simply beautiful! one of the best droptops of our time. :eusa_clap

i picked 650i but this is the only case where i think the mercedes is close to its bmw rival...the sl is just some car...its beutiful...powerful...and elegant...but the 6er is just special And differnt...the decision came down to being a bmw fan really... i dont like the sl's brake feel however

This is a bit of a close one between the SL and the 6er. The Bentley, .. well, i've slowly grown to accpe the coupe, but the convertible just is not my thing at all.

Between the 6er Convertible and the SL, I have to say I've liked the 6er from day one. Not put off by the boot or the front lights or anything for that matter. At the same time though, I do think the SL is appealing, although I don't like it as much as I do in AMG guise. When comparing the SL550 with the 6er, the 6er is my pick, but had the poll included the SL55, then it would definately be the SL55.

So, in this poll, my vote goes to the 6er. :)

Absolutely gorgeous...!!

:t-cheers:

seriously the car above is one of the wierdest cars on the market

I'll take all three of them please. ;)
Same here...but if I could just pick one of these I'd have to take the SL550. That car must be one of the sharpest looking cars available today. And amongst the three that we had to choose from: The first among equals.

Nope, not that either ;) (I think we understand each others now so lets not make another 4 pages were we go on saying "yes", "no", "yes, "no" etc etc :D )

None for me.
The 6er is just sad rather than agresive.
The SL headlights and tail lights make it look dated and common.
The CTG isn't even worth mentioning.
I can't pick a winner, but the loser is the CGT.
Aston Martin please.

once a 911, always a 911.:usa7uh:

As a side note, I was driving around town casting glances on various pieces of automotive machinery and gathered that there are certain cars that never go out of style, the 911 is most definately one of them.

This is kinda sad to me, picking the car just because you're a fan of the brand and not the car you seem to feel is the better of the two.

Interesting reading all the BMW fans reasons for picking the 6-Series over the SL when they know they like the SL more.

SL got the look but also got the price. In sweden a SL500 cost as much as M6 and this with the 306 hp engine. :eek2:

BTW I think the Jag would get my vote if the car was in this poll.

Well a Mercedes has never been cheap or in some cases reasonably priced. The SL550 is about 100K here in the U.S. too, about the same price as the M6. Very different cars though. Well see how much a M6 Cabrio will cost.

I second that! I guess we are still looking at badges vs. overall improvements!
The f/l SL550 enjoys all the improvements the AMG versions do including brakes that have been reprogramed for enhanced feel! something Sunnyman overlooked. The Steering rack is 18% quicker and the ABC is 60% better! I`m quite sure the SL550 will outperform the competition in this thread.

Thats great with improvements but I live in Sweden and I rather buy a M6 than a SL500 with 306hp.
