The 6 series is the least elegant of the lot. It would be the drug dealers choice in black. I would choose the bentley followed by the SL. You should have included the maserati into the question and the aston martin oh and the 911 lol :D

I like all three but since SL is starting to grow old compared to the newer competition so i would take a 650. The GTC is nice also.

SL old starting to grow old? Half true.
SL still looking good? Hell yeah:D

SL no doubt...it kills the competition brutally when it comes to looks

SL550 is that car I'd choose, though I'd probably never buy it. Most definately the best looking car, but totally not my style.

Yeah, I would never actually buy a convertible anyway, and probably never a sports car or coupe, either. I don't think I could spare the expense in the face of the lack of practicality.

That said, I still think the SL is the best convertible out there. Drop dead gorgeous looks, and that hardtop, mmm, hard to beat. The thing looks fast just sitting there. I don't have any sporting pretensions, but I think that the SL should have plenty of ability to cover anything that I could come across in everyday driving.

However, since Youngwarrior mentioned the Aston.. that would probably be the only car that could unseat the Merc. Either a Vantage or a DB9!

A Porsche 911 would probably be stretching the 'elegance' aspect of the thread, and similarly, the Ferrari F430 wouldn't quite fit, and I don't think there are any other current Ferrari convertibles. I don't think the Gallardo or Murci quite count as elegant. The Maserati might just fit..

GTA, if you decide to make it a poll, make it with 'multiple choices' cause I'm voting all 3! :D :t-drive:

Is it too late to make it a poll with the three cars listed? It might be too late with all the responces now.

If we're talking about aesthetics here, the SL takes the crown.

The Bentley doesn't look particularly beautiful, it's actually just showy and... That's about it.

The 6 Series' front lights can't be called beautiful for sure. :D

I have long thought the SL was the best car Mercedes build - that's what I'd have.

The BMW looks fantastic in that picture - very seductive.

I know some people hate the Bentley ......actually some members (not mentioning anybody here Merc1) seem to have some kind of fixated hatred, resulting in violent outbursts of uncontrollable rage, towards that car ....personally, I don't think it's so bad ...but it's not for me.

Now Roberto that isn't true at all, hate is a strong word.....I may have said I can't stand the car or dislike it, but I don't remember saying I hate it. Uncontrollable outbursts and violence, me??? No.

Of course I'll take the SL over either of these, neither of them even compare in my book.

The Bentley just looks...well.... The 6-Series is gorgeous until you look at the booty. It looks awful next to the SL.

The SL is such a beautiful car and also probably is bought by the widest demographic of the three cars - it never looks "wrong" or out of place when parked next to vehicles much more expensive that itself .......having said that, it's hardly the most egalitarian mode of transport in the world.

The SL may be the the favourite shopping cart of well-heeled fashion-victims everywhere but it is more than just a dream car for lottery-winning hairdressers, the SL is a truly excellent automobile - it is a model that has long been recognized as the pinnacle of German technical ingenuity and sophistication.

How easily we forget, however better performer the 997 Cab may be when compared to the other cars, it's very much in the same class given it's price, configuration, and power. With that said, had the 997 Cab been included I would have, of course, chosen that car.

I thought about the Porsche 911 cab, it`s a beautiful car but the Elegance facter? hmmm.:eusa_thin

I certainly didn't forget the Porsche - I would probably choose it too, but I think the 911 and the SL are fairly evenly matched - the Porsche may be more true sportscar than the GT Mercedes, but I think anybody who is looking for a top class convertible, and is not just looking to buy a badge - would certainly look seriously at both the Porsche and the Mercedes.

Personally I would never buy a 911 cab since I think that the coupe is better looking and that it would feel so wrong to own a 911 cab. With the roof cut off the car loses some of it's 911-ness.

I would rather have a hardtop 911 too.
