Let me say, that even before going out for the drive that I was actually expecting a lot from this car, and my expectations were met. I went into Keyes Lexus on Van Nuys blvd.(Matt's pop's dealer is right next door), they were more than happy to show me the car, which they did not have on the premises at the dealer. So we were off to the lot courtesey of a brand new GS300, which was a truly satisfying ride.

Cut to the chase.... I got behind the wheel of a Blk/Beige IS350 fully loaded w/ sat/nav, 13 spkr. Mark Levinson sound sys., reverse camera(really really cool, and help me back the car in perfect), and Lexus accesory 18" rims which were quite nice, though I'd probably do w/ some Volk racing wheels were I to actually purchase this car. So I hopped in the drivers seat, got my adjustments in, which to my suprise the fit was great, this car can literally fit any size(granted you're not a football player) and the seats are very comftarble. Hit the push button start and the engine comes to life, though any audible sound the engine might be making is mute. So I rolled off the lot onto the streets and the salesman told me to "punch" the accelerator, and I did. This car is seriously no slouch, 60 came much earlier than I thought it would when I read "80", this car is stupid fast. The mum engine suddenly comes to life as you begin to accelerate though I bet it could do a lot more w/ an upgraded down pipe and cat back exhaust. The ride is firm but very very compliant as only Lexus would allow. Steering is very accurate and on point, not terrible feelsome, but it's a sporting enough feel to make you feel some conneciton w/ the car. I didn't bother w/ the paddle shifters as instructed by the salesman, he told me there have been customers drivng the cars before that have "over revved" the engine, which I don't get? Because if that was a possiblity then Lexus would not have made such things avaible for the customer to use in their daily drivng. In all the IS350 is a very well rounded package and reaffirms the fact that Toyota is a very competent maker of performance machines should they choose to build such, and this goes for Nissan too, but the focus here is the new Lexus IS. 3 series good? Depends on what you mean, but at the end of the day the 3er is still the one to beat, but the Lexus comes close, just doesn't have the same agility as the 3 nor the telepathic steering feel you recieve from the Bimmer. At just $38k(base, and trust me, all you'll ever need) the IS350 is very very hard to turn down, it's got a brute engine that responds readily to your input, well packaged w/ a ton of amenitites and standard features. To top it all off it's got solid build quality that easily matches Audi(yes it's true) and looks good, and probably will for years to come. Lastly, would you buy one Deutsch? Ab-sol-freak'n-lutely. 3er, watch it.:t-cheers:

335i and we dont need to worry anymore :D j/k

In Sweden, IS350 isnt for sale. Lexus Sweden decided to only sell IS250 and a dieselversion. I guess the market for Lexus isnt big enough in Sweden.
