I cant find any sales numbers but someone told me Lexus are selling more IS than 3-series in US.
False or true?

A quick glance around LA roads confirms that the 3er is outselling the IS. It's pretty unscientific, but this method of gauging sales has never been far off.

FALSE. This all started when Autolies posed the question, but left the answer in small print. NO, the IS is not outselling the 3-SERIES in the U.S.

Thanks for those hard numbers.

Like I said - the casual LA survey is never scientific, but it's always a good barometer of what's goin' on.

Looking at those numbers - I'm surprised how many people are apparently going for the IS250. Ewwww.

Yes, that is alot, and alot of IS's. I see more 3'er's on the road personally.

C'mon Osna, In some markets we don't have a choice, only the 250. :D Also, the 325i is actually a 2.5 litre and not a detuned 3.0, so the IS250 is quite competitive.

I still saw ewww to the 250. Sure it's a fine car and whatnot, but stateside the IS has been banking heavily on it's bad-ass engine and it's 5.3 second sprint time. (Officially substatiated by the company I work for BTW)

There's just a mental gulf in my head between the 250 and 350. You can thank the marketing department on that one. If I was to step into an IS I wouldn't even think twice about what trim. My condolences to all y'all in Oz.

Nice job with the figures:usa7uh:
The people working at autospies are nuts, they can hardly ever get facts straight.

Even the 5 series outsells the IS, so what's up with this BS.
There is a reason that many of us call Autospies.com Autolies. They are the tabloid version of Internet car news web sites. They also seem to have an axe to grind against BMW and will distort news and information to make BMW look bad.

I used to read them every week but a couple of years ago I stopped because their anti-BMW slant got to much for me to take. Places like German Car Fans, Autoblog.com and places like this has served to give me all the information I need about BMWs and other cars without all the crap that Autolies puts out.

Actually, if I was paying the bills, and wasn't made of money, then I'd consider buying the IS250 over the IS350 anyway. It'd be a bit lighter on its feet, too. The petrol costs would be less painful.

I haven't been so spoiled by big power cars that driving the IS250 would be painful. In fact, the IS350 would almost be overdoing it, though I could be wrong, not having driven either.

don't forget the fact that they are paid to promote the Lexus lineup.. You can see that from their attitude towards the brand and from all the ads all over their site!

Today I boked a IS test drive for the the up coming monday.Though I have to say that I'm a bit sceptical since the car I'll be driving it both a Diesel and an Automatic.

Although you might not have an official dealer in Halmstad you can always contact Toyota or look on their website for an official dealer.
Getting to test drive the car isn't hard at all. Just visit the swedish website and you will find a link for testdriving. I pressed the link, entered my name and phone number and today they gave me a call and said that they are ready for me to come. After the testdrive I'll write a review and share my opinions.
