Hello all, been sometime since I was here.
I wanted to say I did a roadtrip to Germany this summer. The kid told me a few months ago he wanted to go to Germany. He wanted to go to Nurnburgring and going +200km/h on Autobahn. I was not late to agree and to fullfill his wishes.
I always want to go to Nurnburgring myself my whole life but it’s a long way from home.
Anyway the bucket list is almost empty (except for sleeping with a celebrity). I did it, 3 laps around the famous track. I was pretty nervous since I didn’t want to crash the car, we had another 4 days in Germany and I wanted the brakes to stay strong. So I had too use the head and drive within my limits and brake early. But I’ve been there, a place many want to visit.
The first lap was in pouring rain, I saw one car going off the track. Second and third lap was better although damp in some places. Keep to the right when you see someone behind you and let the faster cars pass you.
It felt like I was driving fast because sometimes I heard the tyres squel but it’s amazing to see a M5 CS or a Porsche GT3 flying past you. It’s crazy how late they can brake before a corner. But on the other hand they have hundreds of laps and know the track 100%.
I have 3 laps, lol, I survived and no crash. I had a blast and my Fiesta ST is a lovely car on the track. There are so many various ST, I30n and Porsches gathering in the same place. I think I saw all AMG versions and Black Series. Before the tourists lap opened all those AMG had been driving around the track.
The week after I was there , there was a deadly crash. I think it was Goodyear team trying out a new tyre.
There is so much to see around Nurnburgring, it’s big place. And the roads to and away from Nurnburgring is amazing too.
Of course I bought a Nurnburgring sticker to the car to remind my I actually been there. Also a T-shirt with the map printed and coffee cup with the map on.
Luckily I had a Gopro with me to record this moment. I also bought photos of my car on the track. There are photographers all around the track to take picures of you.
I have no idea if there are any old members left. I hope you are all good and still alive.
