W110 Info on W120/121 and W110's?

The W110 is a line of mid-size primarily inline four-cylinder executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1961 and 1968. It was part of Mercedes' unified platform of "Fintail" (German: Heckflosse) models – first introduced as a six-cylinder Mercedes W111 in 1959. It was succeeded by the Mercedes-Benz W114/W115. Production: 1961-1968.

I've been looking to buy an old W120 or W110 (any engine, preferably the largest one :D) and was wondering if anyone knew about their reliability, cost of repairs, etc.?

I've found an example of each, one is (it looks like) in excellent condition (the W110) and the other is an older restoration (the W120). The guy with the 190 W120 (the older restoration) wants $13,000 U.S. for the car. Is that too much? I was thinking around $10,000 max. :t-hands:

The reserve price for the W110 isn't listed, but I imagine it can't be more than $8,000.

Here are the eBay pages:

Just a side note: I haven't narrowed my selection to just the two above, I've also been looking at old 300D's, W126's, 190E's...basically any 'classic' Mercedes that's in perfect condition :D

Yes finding good cars is hard, why spend $$$ to do a job the for the most part can be done for $.

I would love a 190SL, but it does have a small engine and priced well above $10K. But if you want a nice cruser for $40K it would be perfect.

If you want a 100% car check classic car dealers, ebay would be hit and miss.
