Jeremy Clarkson threatened to "hunt down" a 12-year-old boy who took his picture while he was on holiday in Barbados. The Top Gear host reacted in fury after he was snapped by youngster Tom Dickman when he was asleep on a beach.

Clarkson confronted the boy on the day after the picture had been taken. He ranted: "Are you the little f***er that took my picture? If you do that again or it goes on the internet I will hunt you down and rip your f***ing head off." Tom then burst into tears and sought comfort from his father.

"I saw it all happen," Tom's dad Chris told the Sunday Mirror. "Tom was a huge fan of Top Gear and Clarkson was his hero. He watched the show every week and even asked me to buy him the DVDs for Christmas and birthdays."

"He was so proud when he come back the day before to show me his little digital camera and say, 'I've just taken a picture of Jeremy Clarkson'. I was made up for him - he only took the picture to show his mates at school that he'd really seen his hero on his holiday. But Clarkson's reaction was out of order. He utterly humiliated and scared my son."

Chris complained to the BBC, which broadcasts Top Gear, about the matter. However, a spokesman told the family: "Mr Clarkson was on a private holiday."

"I was disgusted by the BBC's response," Chris complained. "Who the hell does Clarkson think he is?"

Maybe Jeremy Clarkson will become urban legend. Parents will tell their children to never take someone else's picture without the consent of the particular individual or Jeremy Clarkson will hunt them down and rip their f*cking heads off!

If I was asleep on a beach on my own private holiday I also wouldn't want my picture taken by some little twat. Total invasion of my privacy. If I really was this kid's hero then wait for me to wake up, introduce yourself with the appropriate level of respect and then have a quick chat or a get an autograph.

Still it doesn't justify his behavior. Imagine, Martin, that it happened to your kid, this behavior from JC, what would you do, go and apologize to JC 'cause your little kid woke him up? Your kid ain't some stupid, annoying paparazzi after all.

I know i'd just take my kid for the hand, laugh at him, saying go yell at your wife you idiot and walk away. If he'd say another word, that would probably be his last holiday.

Noone, noone yells on my children like that except me and my wife if really needed. Here? There was definitely no need for that and it just shows how JC is an arrogant SOB!

while i agree he should not have done that, he's also a celebrity. so, i think it's aso fair to respect his privacy. the kid would have asked him first.

Of course Tyc, I agree with you to a certain extent if it was my kid. Then again, I would also guide my child beforehand so that he/she knows that it is not acceptable, especially in this day and age to simply go around taking pictures of people where permission isn't granted.

I'm not justifying Clarkson's reaction - two wrongs don't make a right - but at the same time what kind of society do we live in where it's condonable for your kid to think it's acceptable to go and take pictures of complete strangers in their private moments?

Yep i hate parents who defend their child no matter what they do..
Its a epidemy now, everyone does it..
To defend you child you need to first of all learn your child to behave.. and today very very few parents do that..
Back in my days..i would get slapped by relatives and friends of the family..
Thats how we rolled..cause i was a crazy child..

Exactly, thats what I mean. Yes, he is on a private holiday, but the guy is only 12 years old!! Its not on.
