I need another car. Suggestions needed

For me it would be crystal clear: first gen. Miata. I know it has been mentioned before, but it is the perfect cheap second car for a petrol head. I owned one as my ONLY car for many years, even drove Norway-Spain with it several times. What a car!

An acqaintance of mine owned one of the first Mazda MX-5s' registered in our county. He purchased it in early 1991, between him and his wife drove it almost daily and kept it for 15 years. He always maintained that the car was "indestructible".

It’s the cheapest car I have had (bought it used), it’s the most fun car I have had (regarding driver involvement) and it is the car I miss most.

A quick update:

I just bought myself a new laptop with half the new car budget. At the same time, having checked around 35 cars the last couple of weeks, I decided to get a late Peugeot 206 Quicksilver, the one with the 90hp DOHC 1.4l engine. I've located 4 descent examples around my area and I'll take closer looks from next week.

You can't easily change a man. Small french hatchback 4ever! D:

Absolutely agree. French cars are very good up to the Golf class. I would rank them first, followed by the Japanese and then come the German, which are two stiff, uncomfortable, steril and expensive to maintain.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Only the french got it right back then. It's a shame that they don't make 'em like they used to.

PS. Back in the day, an old friend had a 206 RC. Damn it was nice to drive. Fast it was not, though.

I have a 9 seat Opel Vivaro ( I really needed it) with a Renault diesel engine. The air filter is......... ..4 Euro.

Speaking of 3ers, an E30 could do the job, but clean examples are rare...

An E30 for 2000 Euro? What? Is this 1994?
You pay 10 times as much for a beat up 318i E30 and you'll be happy!

Anyways..... 106 XSI. But still that'll be more than what you want to pay.

The greek used car market is quite strange. You won't find an E30 sedan for sale for more than 5.000€!

The budget has already gone up...
Seriously speaking, though, I'm about to spend the equivalent of a new car into some specialized structural analysis software. It's either new work tools or new car. These are strange times we're living in...

Quick update. There's something wrong with the local market. The only descent enough 206 was for sale for 5000€, so to make the long story short, the Clio is back on its wheels, half finished.

The problem is that I've decided I'm getting another car, no matter what. And it gets worse. I decided I need something older and slower than my S60, and I'm looking to get an E39, which is the quintessential BMW in my book. I'm targeting a late model with the M54B22, and a manual gearbox, a combination that results in exactly 12 cars for sale in the whole country, none of which is work more than 20€.

The thing is, I've set aside a budget which needs to cover the expenses for an apartment renovation (a property of mine that needs some work in order to be able to be rented again) and what's left will be the new car capital. The final decision will be made around September.

used car prices in europe are up (feeling, but i read article with stats too, so it is rather fact). with european push for bevs and coming ban of icevs, i do not know how it is possible. media does not reflect reality.

good choice on E39 with M54.

My younger brothers' E39 520i (LCI 2.2L, 170PS) was a tremendous automobile. He still maintains that it was probably the best car that he's ever owned.

I am lookings some new car also. Does anyone have experience with Tesla? How do you like? Or don't?

A Tesla either makes sense for you or it doesn't.

If you can charge at home, in public or at work, then an EV could be the best car purchase that you have ever made.
