Im having some early problems with the car...

- the AC is only blowing hot air.. no matter how cold I set it on... I will check it with my friend the next days.
- I gotta change the windscreen since I got a stone from a truck in front of me on it today...
- I noticed that the rear lights and the rear speakers are not working....

The A/C not making any cold is just normal after all those years: there is no more cold-making fluid in it. Just recharge it with fluid and it should be all right, unless you got a leak in the circuit.

For the rear speakers... are those the OEM ones? If yes, are you sure there are speakers indeed and that they were not optional?

If yes to both, added with the non-working rear lights, I smell somebody did mess with the electric circuit with non-professional hands.

Maybe a poorly repaired rear-end damage?

Anyway, looks very nice (is that the original paint? looks like new!), and the FL rear lights are a welcomed mod (no dubious LED units please.... I hate it).

As coolraoul says, your A/C probably just needs re-gassing.

Check the fuses before you start looking into the wiring for the lights and speakers. Did the rear lights work before you changed the clusters? Do the brake and/or reverse lights come on?

You might need to re-wire the tail lights with the old connections. Iv'e heard about swapping tail-lights around and needing to be re-wired!

From what I know, AC compressor failure is common in cars with more than 150.000 to 200.000kms on the clock. So it may need a replacement.

If the compressor has failed it will have logged a fault code. Tumbo - have you had the car scanned with VAG-COM (or whatever it's called these days)?

My A4 has done nearly 303,000km and the compressor hasn't failed yet...[image no longer available]forum/images/smilies/UHOH7.GIF
